Students Demonstrate Academic Excellence
MEAP scores at Grand Rapids Christian Schools show students among the brightest
We are very excited to announce that our students have scored again significantly higher on the MEAP test compared with students from other schools in Kent County and throughout the state. Congratulations go to our students and teachers, as well as our parents, who provide so much support.
The Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) is an annual assessment given to third through eighth graders to determine proficiency in math, science, and English/language arts. The assessments are administered in October of each school year.
GRCS students continue to excel in all three categories. MEAP reading, math, and science scores were some of the highest in the county, surpassing state averages in some tests by up to 24 percent. Our students demonstrate excellence in each area year after year.
“GRCS has always maintained a high standard of excellence in its students,” says Tom DeJonge, superintendent. “It’s exciting and encouraging to see God at work in our students’ lives as they excel in all academic areas.”
“God calls us to provide a strong foundation for our students,” says DeJonge. “It’s wonderful to see our kids enter middle school, high school, and college prepared to perform at high levels. Our goal is to continue that standard so they can be successful in all of life.”
