How to Support the Get Healthy Funding Initiative

There are several ways to make a gift to the Get Healthy funding initiative:

Individual gifts
You can make a one-time gift or pledge your gift over a period of time. Gifts by check and credit card are greatly appreciated. If you give regularly to the Schools’ annual fund, please consider an additional gift to the Get Healthy funding initiative.

Publicly traded stock
If you own stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other securities, please consider using them to make your gift. Giving gifts of appreciated assets can provide you with maximum tax savings versus other forms of giving.

Corporate contributions
Many corporations give to Grand Rapids Christian Schools because they like to invest in the local community. Many organizations also offer a Matching Gift Program to encourage employees to give to charitable causes. Check to see whether your company has such a program.

Planned giving
As you consider your will and estate plans, note that Grand Rapids Christian Schools has been accepting planned gifts for more than 40 years. All gifts of this nature are endowed at Grand Rapids Christian Schools Foundation. Please consider an outright bequest, charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder or lead trust, and/or a gift of a life insurance policy.

Creating an endowment fund
Since a portion of the Get Healthy funding initiative will build the Foundation’s endowment, donors have the option of creating their own named endowment fund. Endowment funds can support tuition assistance, underwrite important academic programs, or provide general support.

Other types of gifts
Grand Rapids Christian Schools is familiar with handling non-publicly traded securities, real estate, and other assets used in charitable giving. If you would like to make a special type of gift, we will be happy to help you do so in a professional, timely manner.

Honoraria or memorial gifts
Individuals or families may choose to make a gift to honor someone special. Grand Rapids Christian Schools will notify the honoree of your gift, if you desire. Gifts in memory of a loved one will be acknowledged to the family.

In-kind donations
We welcome in-kind donations. Since many friends of Grand Rapids Christian Schools own or work at businesses, we welcome the opportunity to work with you in the general operation of the Schools as well as in this funding initiative.
