Two-Hour Delay Policy
Many schools throughout the area delay the start of school by two hours on days when weather and road conditions make early morning school transportation unsafe. Grand Rapids Christian Schools (GRCS) also utilizes a two hour delay at each school when warranted by weather conditions.
In all cases, students who ride a GRCS or public school bus should be at their assigned stop two hours later than regularly scheduled times.
We do not anticipate needing to delay school for weather conditions often. However, should weather conditions warrant this decision, parents will be notified in the same way they have been notified of school cancellations. Announcements will be posted as early as possible on local TV and radio stations, on the GRCS website, and on individual school voice message systems.
