BUILDING: Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Iroquois Campus (IR)
SCHEDULE: Part-time school year; hourly positions (14–35 hours/week)
REPORTS TO: Preschool Director, Iroquois Campus
COORDINATES WITH: Preschool Lead Teacher, Preschool and Kids Care Administrative Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Iroquois Campus is seeking a new Preschool Assistant Teacher to work up to 5 days per week. Our preschool program is for 3–5 year olds, play-based and focused on the growth of the whole child. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a safe environment and active supervision for students by following all licensing guidelines
- Assist the preschool lead teacher with instructional support, classroom management and activities
- Encourage creative thinking and learning
- Manage attendance
- Daily clean and organize the learning spaces
- Coordinate with preschool teacher teammates
REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate (or GED) and at least 18 years of age
- Preferred experience working with children
- CPR/First Aid Certified, can be completed after employment
- Complete and pass the state-required background check
- Complete required, on-going trainings, if offered the position
- Have a patient and supportive approach to working with children with the learning process
- Be able to sit on the floor with children and move around for long periods of ti
