OVERVIEW
CONTRACT: Full-time, School Year (January 5 start date)
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
COORDINATES WITH: Immersion Instructional Staff, Grade Level Instructional Staff
POSITION SUMMARY
Grand Rapids Christian Schools seeks applicants for full-time Spanish Immersion teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Applicants must reflect a Christian worldview in their teaching, be familiar with immersion program instruction, be fluent Spanish speakers, and be certified by the State of Michigan to teach elementary school.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent Christian teaching
- Develop and implement curriculum
- Demonstrate effective classroom management
- Nurture faith within a community setting
- Develop a learning community with families and colleagues
- Develop strong relationships with students and parents
- Establish ongoing communications between colleagues and members of the school community
- Develop and implement Spanish Immersion instruction that:
- Integrates Christian faith with learning
- Uses best practices in elementary education
- Uses best practices specific to immersion instruction
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge, understanding, commitment to a reformed Christian educational worldview
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Knowledge and understanding of elementary education practices
- Fluency in the Spanish language
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
