POSITION TITLE: Math and Bible Teacher
BUILDING: Grand Rapids Christian Middle School
CONTRACT: 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
COORDINATES WITH: Administrative Team, 7th Grade Team
POSITION SUMMARY
The 7th-grade teacher works with the Grand Rapids Christian Middle professional learning community to teach from a Christian perspective, ensuring that all students in her/his classes are prepared to be effective servants of Christ in contemporary society as they learn appropriate content standards at a high level.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaches from a Christian perspective in alignment with GRCS statement of faith

Grows in expertise of content area and pedagogy through ongoing professional development

Collaborates with professional learning team (PLT) to identify essential standards, create common assessments, and analyze assessment data to ensure that all students learn at a high level

Collaborate with support services to meet individual student needs
-
Create lesson plans that engage students in the learning process and that have clear learning objectives

Manages a classroom by providing clear expectations, positive reinforcement, and restorative practices

Gives timely feedback to students and assigns timely grades that represent accurate levels of learning

Collaborates with student life team, program coordinators, and administrators through student referral system and other forms of communication

Communicates with parents regularly to share student celebrations and concerns
-
Helps students grow in their faith as they attend chapel together, attend Bible class daily, and build relationships with each other.
QUALIFICATIONS

State of Michigan Certified teacher
