Students Pick Annual Eagle Book Award Winner
By Betty-Ann Boss
Each year the students at Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School Iroquois campus select a book to receive the Eagle Book Award.
Media Specialist, Betty-Ann Boss selects 20 of the top reviewed and awarded books of the past year, buys multiple copies (with the gracious help from the PTO), and introduces this school-wide reading program to all classes, kindergarten through fourth grade.
Students are asked to read at least 10 of the selected book in order to have the privilege of voting for their favorite book. Those students that read all 20 are given the title of "Eagle Experts." After the voting has been tallied, these Eagle Experts are featured in the winner reveal video.
Some past Eagle Book Award Winners include The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, Rescue and Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship by Jessica Kensky, Big Mean Mike by Michelle Knudsen, and Camp Tiger by Susan Choi.
