GRCHS Class of 2021:
Senior Sunday

May 16, 2021

Sam VerSteeg

Name: Sam VerSteeg

Favorite memory from GRCHS: Traveling to Orlando, Florida with my basketball team my junior year.

What advice would you give to younger students? Be on time to class, don't be afraid to reach out to teachers if you need help, and make lots of friends, don't be shy.

What GRCS Portrait of a Graduate characteristic do you most identify with and why? I would identify myself as a Thoughtful Neighbor. I see myself helping others, doing little things to assist my peers and friends.

Post-high school plans: Sam is planning on attending Hope College in the fall. He will be playing basketball and studying business and psychology.

Ryann Breslin

Name: Ryan Breslin

Favorite memory from GRCHS: Definitely my Winterim trips to Jamaica and Mexico!

What advice would you give to younger students? Get involved in sports, clubs, or volunteering. You will meet so many people in and out of the GRCS Community. It is fun to know students from other schools through these activities!

What GRCS Portrait of a Graduate characteristic do you most identify with and why? I most identify with the characteristic of a Thoughtful Neighbor. Through playing on the GRC Golf and Tennis team I've learned how to be thoughtful of my teammate's time and help them accomplish their goals.

Post-high school plans: Ryann will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and majoring in business or biology.

Lily Gaastra

Name: Lily Gaastra

Favorite memory from GRCHS: Going to football games or honestly just being a senior and experiencing all the perks that come with the year, especially senior treat days and 8th-hour release!

What advice would you give to younger students? Find a way to enjoy the little things high school gives you. Even if it’s happiness because the lunch is good that day or excitement from having a class with one of your friends.

What GRCS Portrait of a Graduate characteristic do you most identify with and why? Thoughtful Neighbors because I really care about my classmates and hope that they enjoy whatever they choose to do for this next year.

Post-high school plans: In the fall, Lily will be attending Calvin University and majoring in biology/pre-PA.
