Eagle Strong Feature Freshta

Freshta Tori Jan came to Grand Rapids Christian High School for her senior year of high school starting in the fall of 2017.  Prior to her life as a student at Grand Rapids Christian, she had life experiences some of us only hear about in movies and books.  Freshta spoke about her life in Kabul as well as her plans for the future and the ways she would like to give back for an article in the 2017-2018 Grand Rapids Christian Schools Annual Report.

In mid-March, Freshta, 20, like many college students, transitioned from residential to online education at Calvin University. But the change in the medium didn't change her mission. In fact, in this season, she's discovered that her mission of fighting inequality in any system in any way she can, has found a new opportunity.  Freshta spoke with Matt Kucinski, Associate Director of Public Relations at Calvin University via a YouTube Q&A about how she is making a difference during the current COVID-19 pandemic by sewing masks to help protect the homeless.  You can learn more at sewtrueproducts.com.

Freshta was also featured on WOOD TV 8 and WZZM 13.

We are so incredibly proud of Freshta and the work she is doing.  She is a Justice Seeker, and she is the portrait of a Grand Rapids Christian High School graduate.
