Black Tie Blue Jeans 2020 Cancellation

Dear Grand Rapids Christian Schools supporters,

In the interest of public health and safety and in light of recent statewide school closure, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel Black Tie Blue Jeans 2020.

Despite the event cancellation, we still would like to acknowledge each of the individuals who were to be honored at Black Tie Blue Jeans: the inaugural Eagle Impact Award recipient, Tom Welch, and 2020 Richard M. DeVos Distinguished Alumni award recipient, Olivia Haverkamp, ‘19.

Look for a forthcoming communication about a virtual event that is being planned.

As a school system, we believe our responsibility during this time is to prioritize the health and well-being of our GRCS community and support our local health and government officials as they work to contain and mitigate the virus. We are blessed that technology, made possible by our donors and supporters, allows us to simultaneously continue to educate and stay in contact with our students by providing off-campus learning experiences beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

Be assured that during these rapidly changing times the staff of Grand Rapids Christian Schools will continue to work towards fulfilling the mission of preparing our students to be effective servants of Christ.

While we do not know what tomorrow may bring, we serve a God who does. He has the whole world in His hands. He not only sees tomorrow, He sees next week, next month, and next year.

We look forward to celebrating Christian education with you at VIRTUAL Black Tie Blue Jeans 2020.

Thank you!
