GRCES Iroquois Campus Inclusion Update

Dear Parents:

As we continue to confirm staffing plans for the 2020-21 school year, I wanted to share one more important update with you.  Since the doors opened at the Iroquois Campus in 2010, Kim Primus has served Inclusion Services in a variety of roles.  Most recently, she has served as Inclusion Coordinator at the Iroquois Campus while also taking on the role of K-12 Director of Inclusion Services.

Beginning in 2020-21, she will take on a new role.  Kim will continue to serve as K-12 Director of Inclusion Services for Grand Rapids Christian Schools.  In addition, she will also serve as Assistant Principal at the Iroquois Campus.  This shift in responsibilities means she will no longer serve in the role of Inclusion Coordinator at Iroquois.

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Tully Groenendyk will assume the position of Inclusion Coordinator at Iroquois. Tully worked alongside Kim in the spring of 2019 as a teacher intern while attending Calvin University.  Kim is excited for Tully’s appointment saying, “Tully is a Christ follower who has a passion for Inclusion, a heart for unique learners, and understands the philosophy of Inclusion at GRCS.  I know that he will work hard to support the children entrusted to his care.”

Tully currently teaches 5th grade at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School.  While he will miss the students and staff at GRCMS, Tully is very excited to serve as Inclusion Coordinator at Iroquois in the fall.  Kim’s office will remain on the Iroquois Campus, and she will serve as a mentor to Tully in her role as K-12 Director of Inclusion Services.

Inclusion at Grand Rapids Christian Schools is an integral part of who we are as a community.  We are blessed to have experienced and dedicated Inclusion staff to make sure students thrive as important members of our GRCS school community for years to come.

Sincerely,

Tom DeJonge
