Eagle Book Awards 2021

Grand Rapids Christian Evergreen and Iroquois Elementary Schools are proud to continue the great tradition that has become The Eagle Awards. Librarians Mrs. Boss and Mrs. Bolt have read dozens of top-rated picture books from 2020 and have selected 20 exemplary books for our community to read, evaluate and vote for. Morning Car Line Procedures After Spring Break

We continue to follow health and safety protocols at Evergreen while making decisions about moving forward on our path to a normal school routine.  After spring break we are going to make a change to the morning car line drop-off procedure.  Beginning on Monday, April 12 all students will be dropped off at door D-the door by the school office. 

Please follow these specific procedures to ensure that the process goes smoothly and to ensure the safety of each child:

• Drop off time will be from 7:40 a. until 8:00 am. 
• There will be staff at the front door to greet children as they arrive.
• Only students get out of cars in the car line. 
• Adults must remain in the car.
• Park in a lined spot if an adult is going to get out of the car.  Then, the adult walks the student to the staff member at the door.
• Do not go around cars. 
• Please stay in line and move forward only when the car(s) in front of you moves forward.

After-school car line procedures will not change at this time. Students will continue to exit from three separate doors.

Next-Day COVID Testing Sites Available to Students 😷

The Kent County Health Dept. has opened up testing locations to serve students in any school district in Kent County. If you would like to take advantage of this free testing with next-day results for your student, use this link to sign up.

Note: You will need to choose Grand Rapids Public Schools, Wyoming, or Sparta locations. Other locations only test their own staff/students.

Free Meals and Snacks

Free meals and snacks will continue through the end of the school year. Enjoy!

Preschoolers both half-day and full-day and their younger siblings may pre-order lunch online. All orders must be placed by Monday at 8:00 am.

P-EBT Benefits- Who is eligible?

Students must participate in a virtual or hybrid school schedule for at least 5 consecutive days in the current 2020-21 school year, beginning 9/9/20 Students must be eligible for Free on Reduced meals for the 2020-2021 school year. Visit the Parent/Guardian FAQs for answers to questions you may have.

Free and Reduced Lunch Benefits

We encourage you to fill out a meal application at lunchapp.com if you feel you would qualify for Free and Reduced meals. One of the criteria to qualify for the P-EBT benefits is that you have an application on file as well as a virtual learner. 

Be a Part of the Food Service Team

Looking for fun, servant-minded serving staff to work 2-3 days per week in the Fall of 2020.  A great opportunity to be on the same schedule as your student.  If you are interested in working at any of our school sites next year please, email nmichaels@grcs.org.

Athletics + Youth Sports

GRC Youth Sports and Recreation Programs  

Did you know, GRC has its own Recreation Department? We offer sports programs for GRCS students and students from the surrounding area. For a complete look at what we have to offer, go to www.grcs.org/youthsports.

Our programs will follow the same Health and Safety Protocols, as we are following at school. Masks for coaches, hand sanitizer for players, disinfectants for equipment, and social distancing will all be observed.
