March is National Reading Month!

We plan to celebrate on campus in multiple ways, one of which being Well-Read Wednesdays. Please consider helping your child(ren) participate in the following reading-related, apparel-based activities throughout the month of March:

  • Wednesday, March 9: Read-a-Shirt Day! Wear a text-filled shirt to spark spontaneous reading as we pass one another in the hallways and classrooms.
  • Wednesday, March 16: Cozy Up to Reading Day! Wear your PJs and bring a small stuffy to read with throughout a day filled with some extra reading opportunities.
  • Wednesday, March 23: Reading Glasses Day! Wear a pair of glasses (sunglasses or other fun styles) to help you see your book's words in a fun way.
  • Wednesday, March 30: Character Day! Dress up as a favorite literary character--what a thrilling way to head into Spring Break!

Morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick Up Reminders

As the mornings lighten and the spring weather creeps closer, we wanted to share a few reminders about keeping our pickup and drop off times safe for the students at Evergreen.

  • Doors open to students at 7:45AM. If you arrive prior to this time, please stay with your children until Mr. Schultze begins greeting them at the door.
  • Adults who park in our parking spaces (both during and after school) are expected to escort their child(ren) across the parking lot
  • For those who do not pull into a parking space, please pull as far forward as you can and remain in your vehicle when dropping off and picking up your child(ren). If you need to leave your vehicle to assist your child, please pull into a parking space.

Hearing and Vision Screening

We will be having hearing and vision screening for our students on Thursday, March 10, and Friday, March 11. Preschool students in attendance will receive both screenings while 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders receive only hearing screening, and Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th graders receive only vision screening. If you have concerns and would like your child to receive both screenings please contact the office so we may put in this special request.
