Field Day – Wednesday, May 17
Evergreen students in Teams 1, 2 & 3 will have field day tomorrow from 10:00am -– 12:00pm.This is a fun event filled of relay races, obstacle courses, games and more. Please try to avoid appointments during this time. If it is not possible to reschedule please contact the office well in advanced if you will need to pick up your student during this time.
Evergreen Year End Picnic & Art Show – May 24
The Evergreen Year End Picnic and Art Show will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. We will enjoy dinner together (see food assignments below), our student's artwork, and fellowship as we finish up another school year. We will gather on the south playground. Please bring your own seating and a side to share:
Team 1: fruit or salad side item
Team 2: chips, pretzels, popcorn etc
Preschool & Team 3: dessert items
EV PTO: hot dogs, condiments and drinks

ALL library books will be due FRIDAY, MAY 19! Please help your student locate and return all Evergreen library books. If you have questions or need to connect with me regarding replacing or paying for replacement books, please email me at ekouri@grcs.org. Thank you for your support with this!
Spring is here, and it is time for the Eagle Book Awards!
Twenty top-notch, highly rated, award winning picture books written in 2022 have been selected by your 3 GRCS elementary school librarians. All 3 campuses (Rockford, Evergreen, and Iroquois) will be celebrating together - reading, enjoying, and evaluating these 20 books in April and May. Then, in the last week of May, students and staff will vote for which picture book is the best for 2022-23. Think Caldecott Award- GRCS version!

Recess Volunteers
The K-5 lunch recess volunteer schedule through the end of the year is available and awaiting your sign up! All volunteers to the GRCES Evergreen campus must pass a background check before they may volunteer. Please fill out the following google form with all the pertinent information at least one week before you plan to volunteer. Volunteer clearances are considered good for one year. You will only be contacted if your background check does not clear. Volunteer Clearance Form

Covid and General Health Awareness
- PLEASE keep the school office informed of any symptoms, illnesses, and test results that prevent your student from attending school. All absences need to be reported to the school office (ev-attendance@grcs.org, 616.574.5990)
- Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick. Children who have two or more cold-like symptoms, any child with a fever, and any child who vomits or has diarrhea should remain out of school for 24 hours after symptoms subside and without the use of medication.
- Current covid protocols, should your student test positive, are to stay home and isolate for five (5) days and then resume activities in a well-fitted mask for five (5) days.
- Please refer to our Parent-Sudent Handbook for more health guidelines.
