Questions? Contact Michelle Ogdahl at 616.574.6565 or MOgdahl@grcs.org.

Please, and Thank you!

PLEASE continue to fill out the health form that is sent to you each morning for your student. Staff is also required to do the same. The app closes at 8:30 am. If you are unable to fill out the app, please contact the school office.

THANK YOU for your patience as we work with Kent County Health Department to get the kinks worked out with the health assessment app sent out each day.

If your student is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please keep them home and contact your doctor.

Kent County COVID-19 Testing Sites 😷

Thank you to everyone for your positive attitude and teamwork to get the school year off to a good start! Parents are getting used to completing the health screening tool, and students and staff are acclimating to the new protocols at school.

The Kent County Health Department recently asked all area schools to share the following information about testing sites with their families. These are County sites, and their lab results are currently coming back in 48 – 72 hours. Other testing sites are also available and can be used.

For more information on testing sites or to register for a testing day, call 616.632.7200 or register online.

PTO

Foot Frolic Frenzy 👟

The 11th annual Foot Frolic Frenzy will be held the week of November 16, 2020! The event is going to look different this year because of the pandemic, but all students will still be able to participate in this fun and healthy event. This is the largest and primary fundraiser for the PTO, which operates on a budget of approximately $60,000 per year. If each child raises $100, the PTO would surpass the amount needed for this school year. We would love to have 100% participation this year!

Foot Frolic Frenzy is typically a lap-a-thon. Students obtain pledges in the weeks preceding the event, run for 30 minutes around the track, and see how many laps they can complete. However, because of COVID-19, we will not be holding one big event. Instead, the students will participate with their classmates during their gym time.

Also, different this year is that students will be asking for a flat rate donation (no per lap donations). We are strongly encouraging online giving at www.grcs.org/frenzy. If a check is your preferred method of giving, donors can make checks payable to GRCES PTO and mail them directly. Please DO NOT send money to school with your child. Students will have from now until the event to obtain pledges. It would be helpful to have all donations made by November 16.

Look for a letter and blue pledge form coming home with your child on October 19.

Now more than ever, we appreciate your willingness to partner with the PTO to help make this event a success!  Any questions? Please contact Becky Kok at beckykok5@gmail.com or Sarah Stehouwer at sarah.stehouwer@yahoo.com.

Volunteers Needed!

Evergreen’s PTO is looking for parents who want to get involved!  Minimal commitment is needed, as meetings are roughly every other month.  Contact Emily Davis (edavisevents@fmail.com) for more information!

Room Parents needed for Preschool!

Please volunteer to be a room parent!  The role of a room parent is to serve as a liaison between teachers and parents.  As a room parent, you will be an important source of support and encouragement to the teacher and will provide opportunities for parents to feel connected to the classroom.  Please utilize the Sign-up Genius link to volunteer, and the Evergreen PTO will follow-up with you.  Two parents for each Evergreen Team is appreciated.
