Grandfriends Day – September 22

Tell your grandfriends to save the date, Friday, September 22! We will be hosting grandfriends of our students on the Evergreen Campus for PS–5th from 8:30–10:00 am. Preschool students will host grandfriends in their classrooms from 8:30–10 am. K–5th grade students will begin with 45 minutes of classroom visiting then have a program in the gym at 9:15 am. At 10 am it will be time to say our goodbyes.

Evergreen Enrichment Week Field Trips – September 25–28

K-5th students will embark on their first enrichment experiences with the week of September 25. Students in Teams 1, 2 & 3 will each have multiply days off campus at Camp Roger or other locations Monday Sept. 25 through Thursday, Sept 28. Please check your calendars now and move any appointments that may conflict with our field trips during this special week. See your classroom's Weekly Newsletter for permission slips, lunch options and for more details when their class will be off campus.

🏃‍♂️ Eagle Dash – September 29

As you have seen in flyers and home notes, GRCES PTO will be hosting Eagle Dash, an active fundraiser for the PTO on Friday, September 29. This is the only fundraiser the PTO does and it raises money to pay for field trips, enhancements to our classrooms, playgrounds, libraries, for community events, for treats our staff and more!

K-5th grade students will be bused to Eagle Stadium on the campus of the Grand Rapids Christian High School to run the track from 9:30am–10:00 am. Families are welcome to come and join in the festivities and help cheer on our runners. Also, volunteers will be needed for set up and clean up and handing out treats and water. Preschool students will run on the baseball field on the Evergreen playground at 11:00am on Friday, September 29. We invite our T/TH friends and family to come and join us. We will run for 15 minutes and then have fun playing on the field before our half day friends leave. 

Covid and General Health Awareness

PLEASE keep the school office informed of any symptoms, illnesses, and test results that prevent your student from attending school. All absences need to be reported to the school office (ev-attendance@grcs.org, 616.574.5990)

Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick. Children who have two or more cold-like symptoms, any child with a fever, and any child who vomits or has diarrhea should remain out of school for 24 hours after symptoms subside and without the use of medication.

Current covid protocols, should your student test positive, are to stay home and isolate for five (5) days and then resume activities in a well-fitted mask for five (5) days.

Eagle Dash is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year. The PTO works hard to raise money for field trips, classroom supplies and many other special projects and events throughout the year.
