Evergreen's Enrichment Experience is next week!
We are thrilled to include all K-5 students in our Enrichment Experience Week, September 26–30. The fall enrichment experience uses a variety of outdoor settings to support our commitment to multi-age education at GRCES – Evergreen. We’re grateful to Camp Roger and Rockford Christian School for partnering with us for some of our field trip experiences!
More details are in classroom newsletters but please know that we are unable to accommodate pickup/drop-off needs outside of the typical bell times on days during which your child is off-campus. Please reschedule any appointments that may make your students late or that may fall at a time when they are off campus.

First Lego League has Openings
The GRCS First Lego League team has a few spots open due to "graduating" teammates. This program combines robotics, coding, and research, and is open to 4th to 6th graders. If you are interested in joining, please fill out this Google form, and plan on a parents meeting THIS THURSDAY (9/22) evening. Eagle Dash Needs You!
Eagle Dash, formerly Foot Frolic Frenzy, is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year. The PTO works hard to raise money for fee-free field trips, classroom supplies, and many other special projects and events throughout the year.
This year, we will host Eagle Dash for K-5 students at the Grand Rapids Christian High School Stadium on the morning of Friday, October 7, 2022! A special Preschool Eagle Dash will be held on Thursday, October 6, and Friday, October 7 at Evergreen.

Grandfriends Day at Evergreen
GRCS is excited to welcome grandfriends to our campuses on Friday, Oct 14. Evergreen K–5th student's grandfriends are invited to visit from 8:30am–10:00am. Classroom visiting will take place for the first hour followed by a program and refreshments.
Evergreen preschool classrooms will host grandfriends on Thursday, Oct 13 and Friday, Oct 14 in accordance with your student's attendance schedule. More details will come out in classroom newsletters in the weeks to come.
Volunteers needed for K-5 Lunch Recess
We are excited to once again welcome recess volunteers to our playground. All volunteers to the GRCES Evergreen campus must pass a background check before they may volunteer. Please fill out the following google form with all the pertinent information at least one week before you plan to volunteer. Volunteer clearances are considered good for one year. You will only be contacted if your background check does not clear. Volunteer Clearance Form

Covid and General Health Awareness
- PLEASE keep the school office informed of any symptoms, illnesses, and test results that prevent your student from attending school. All absences need to be reported to the school office (ev-attendance@grcs.org, 616.574.5990)
- Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick. Children who have two or more cold-like symptoms, any child with a fever, and any child who vomits or has diarrhea should remain out of school for 24 hours after symptoms subside and without the use of medication.
- Current covid protocols, should your student test positive, are to stay home and isolate for five (5) days and then resume activities in a well-fitted mask for five (5) days.
