Homecoming Spirit Week 📣
Leading up to GRCES' Eagle Dash and GRCHS' Homecoming, Evergreen is excited to join in the fun of Spirit Week!
Monday, October 3 is PAJAMA DAY - Cozy up in your jammies!
Wednesday, October 5 is FANCY DAY - Dress to the 9s with a dress or a tie!
Friday, October 7 is SPIRIT DAY - Sport some GRCS gear for the Eagle Dash!
Enrichment Field Trips this week!
Our fall enrichment experience is in full swing. Please remember when your student will be off campus this week and avoid late drop offs and appointments during these days.

Eagle Dash Needs You! 👟
Eagle Dash, formerly Foot Frolic Frenzy, is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year. The PTO works hard to raise money for fee-free field trips, classroom supplies, and many other special projects and events throughout the year.
This year, we will host Eagle Dash for K-5 students at the Grand Rapids Christian High School Stadium on the morning of Friday, October 7, 2022! A special Preschool Eagle Dash will be held on Thursday, October 6, and Friday, October 7 at Evergreen.

Picture Retake Day – October 10 & 11 📸
If you are not pleased with your student's pictures from Geskus Photography or your student missed school on August 29 and 30, picture retake day is your chance to get school pictures again. The photographer will be here in the morning on both Monday, October 10, and Tuesday, October 11. Please bring in your first picture packet with to turn in to the photographer. If your students did not receive pictures and you need a new order form they are available in the school office.
Grandfriends Day at Evergreen
GRCS is excited to welcome grandfriends to our campuses on Friday, Oct 14. Evergreen K–5th student's grandfriends are invited to visit from 8:30 am – 10:00am. Classroom visiting will take place for the first hour followed by a program and refreshments.
Evergreen preschool classrooms will host grandfriends on Thursday, Oct 13 and Friday, Oct 14 in accordance with your student's attendance schedule. More details will come out in classroom newsletters in the weeks to come.
Volunteers needed for K-5 Lunch Recess
We are excited to once again welcome recess volunteers to our playground. All volunteers to the GRCES Evergreen campus must pass a background check before they may volunteer. Please fill out the following google form with all the pertinent information at least one week before you plan to volunteer. Volunteer clearances are considered good for one year. You will only be contacted if your background check does not clear. Volunteer Clearance Form

Covid and General Health Awareness
- PLEASE keep the school office informed of any symptoms, illnesses, and test results that prevent your student from attending school. All absences need to be reported to the school office (ev-attendance@grcs.org, 616.574.5990)
- Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick. Children who have two or more cold-like symptoms, any child with a fever, and any child who vomits or has diarrhea should remain out of school for 24 hours after symptoms subside and without the use of medication.
- Current covid protocols, should your student test positive, are to stay home and isolate for five (5) days and then resume activities in a well-fitted mask for five (5) days.
- Please refer to our Parent-Sudent Handbook for more health guidelines.
