Chamber Chorale Event

You are welcome to join us for the final choral event of the year, "Encore!" featuring Chamber Chorale.

Host Families Needed

We are delighted to be welcoming a number of students (from at least 10 countries) to GRCS next year. These young people are coming for 1 semester, 1 year, or, for some of them, multiple years, and each of them is excited to live with American families while at GRCS. Would your family consider this adventure in hospitality? And, if you have neighbors or friends who might want to open their homes in this way, please direct inquiries to Joelle Williams at jwilliams@grcs.org or 616-574-5652. GRCS host families receive training, a generous stipend, and support throughout the school year.

FACES Program 🇬🇹

Dear Parents and Students,

We are happy to share with you that we will welcome Guatemalan students to campus this fall through the FACES Program.

In order to participate in the Faces Program, Guatemalan students apply to be Cultural Ambassadors of their country and are carefully selected by the Coordinators of the FACES Team. They go through a preparation process during the year and also prepare cultural projects to share with their host family and school.

We would like to invite you to learn more about FACES and the possibility of becoming a Host Family for one of these students for 8 weeks. The program has led to wonderful friendships and has provided our students and guests with valuable cultural experiences.

If you are interested in hosting a student and participating in this life-enriching experience, you can contact me via email, contact Gaby Padilla, State Coordinator, at gaby.padilla@facesandcultures.com, or complete the Host Family Form HERE; we will coordinate a meeting with your family to present the details of the program.

Gaby will also be hosting Informational Meetings on Zoom, every Thursday at 7:00 pm. Please join her or email her to learn more about this opportunity.

Sports Physicals

Current 8th-11th graders planning to play sports at Grand Rapids Christian High School in 2022-23 school year need to have an MHSAA physical form on file with the high school athletic office before they are allowed to participate. A valid physical for 2022-23 must be completed any time after April 15, 2022. You may turn in the completed physical to the GRCHS athletic office by mail or email (to cgroendyk@grcs.org) as soon as you finish it, even if it is before the end of this school year or during the summer. You may print out a physical form here.

This form must be completed with all signatures in order to participate in sports at GRCHS. You may attach your doctor's office physical form for the doctor portion of this form but the parent portion and all signatures need to be completed on this form.
