Christmas Choir Concert 🎄
You are invited to join us for our Christmas Choir Concert on Wednesday, December 11 at 7:30 pm in the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship. Come and celebrate the joy of the season in this special 7th — 12th grade event. New and traditional music will be featured as well as your favorite hymns for a wonderful evening of worshipping the newborn King!
First Semester Exam Schedule
Please note: on Monday, December 16 we are running a Friday class schedule (40 min. all classes) and there is NO LATE START.
First Semester exams are Tuesday, December 17 — Friday, December 20. Two exams are scheduled each day.
- The first exam begins at 8:00 am. Students must stay in the classroom until at least 9:15 and may stay until 9:30.
- The second exam of the day begins at 9:45 am. Students must stay until 11:00 am and may stay until 11:15 am.
Students are required to be present only for the exams they have scheduled (e.g. if a student has a first period class and a second period free period, the student may leave for the day at 9:15/9:30 am). Please discuss your student's exam schedule with them so you are aware of when they are expected to be in school.
Buses will run on their normal morning schedules and will depart from GRCHS at 11:20 am following the second exam.
Exam time changes are permitted only per individual teacher approval. Request forms are available in the office.
In the event of a snow day during exam week, administration will email an updated schedule to students.
First semester book returns: Books must be turned in for single semester classes to teachers before students may take their exam. Students will not be permitted to take their exam if they have not turned in their books. Students should keep their books for year long classes.
Schedule for Exam Week:
Monday: 40 min. all classes schedule, no late start
Tuesday: 1st and 2nd hr
Weds: 3rd and 4th hr
Thursday: 5th and 6th hr
Friday: 7th and 8th hr
Winterim 2020 is fast-approaching! It's always an amazing two weeks for staff and students in the GRCHS community to get a break from their normal schedules and have an opportunity to explore God, His creation, and His call for our lives in different and exciting ways.
Just a reminder: there are no late start mornings during Winterim.
Morning classes run from 8:00 am — 11:00 am
Afternoon classes are from 11:50 pm — 2:50 pm

Ski and Snowboard nights start Wednesday, January 22! We will be at Cannonsburg from 6:00 pm — 9:00 pm every Wednesday until the snow melts. Need a ride? Want to be on the email list? Email email@example.com
Student Drop-off Reminders
Please drop students off in the small parking lot on the Plymouth side or on the east side of the building by the student entrance. The Plymouth main drive is for bus drop off only. Thanks for your help in keeping our parking lot safe.
In May 2020, 9th graders from the SalzH Christian School of Winterthur, Switzerland, will be visiting the high school. They are 15—16 years old and their stay in Grand Rapids is about three weeks. Specific information as to the exact dates of the visit will be coming in a future Home Bulletin. Stipends are offered the host families. Contact Donna Kamerman-Houskamp (firstname.lastname@example.org), the GRCHS German teacher with questions.

Christmas Pops Concert
You are invited to join us for our annual Christmas Pops Concert, featuring our top GRCHS ensembles and special guest artist Brian Morris. Bring the whole family and ring in the celebration and festivity of the season! Saturday, December 14, 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students at dcaw.org.

International Student Hosting Opportunities
Are you interested in new cultures and love to practice hospitality? Beginning in January, the International Student Program has several hosting opportunities available. These opportunities include long-term hosting beginning January 2020, hosting during the two weeks of Winterim (January 4 —18), and temporary hosting over Christmas break. Fans, Families and Friends Of the Varsity Hockey Team! Come watch the varsity hockey team on Friday, December 20 vs Grand Haven at 6:00 pm and then join us for an Open Skate immediately following.
This is will be a great way to start your Christmas vacation. Wear a Christmas sweater- ugly or otherwise and join the Christmas cheer of the season.
The Eagle Athletic Boosters have generously donated to this event so the first 100 skaters can skate for free, everyone after that will only have to pay $3 for skate rental. The concessions will be open for some hot cocoa, and we will have a wonderful time of fellowship skating and falling together!
Bible Collection For South African Christian Mission
Kentwood Christian Church is currently collecting modern English version Bibles for the South African Christian Mission located in Cape Town South Africa. For detailed information about this ministry visit sacmonline.org. There is a collection box located in the GRCHS main office lobby now through April 12.
These Bibles will be handed out for free to people throughout the continent of Africa who desire to have their own Bible. Bibles can be used or new, paperback, hardback, leather, any size/color, and Study Bibles are the most desired. Note: No King James, American Standard, or Revised Standard versions will be accepted because the English is too difficult.
