Schedule for Weds March 10

Weds will be an asynchronous learning day - that means your teachers will assign work for you to do at home but there will be no live zoom classes. 

School Lunch 🥙

Monday: 2 chicken crispitos, black beans and corn, Spanish rice, fruit

Tues: Taco beef, BBQ pork, chicken, queso, rice, guac

Students: you can get a free breakfast everyday.

Choices include: smoothie, Big Apple bagel, yogurt parfait, PopTarts or a warm breakfast sandwich. Stop by the servery between 7:30-8:30 for your free breakfast!

Fundraiser for Kakuma Refugee Camp 💰

GRCHS is raising money for the library in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in northwest Kenya. Bring money to your 3rd-hour class starting next today, March 8 through March 15 to help us reach our school-wide goal. Every class that raises the most money in their department will earn donuts. The class that raises the most money overall will earn a pizza party!

Auditions for Ranked The Musical 🎵

The Stage Company of Grand Rapids Christian High School is proud to offer a Spring Musical this year. GR Christian has been selected to have the Michigan Premier of this new Musical.

Vocal Auditions – March 15,16,17 during Lunch in the Studio  (Must select time slot)

Must have piano music available – 32 bars of audition music.

Character and Reading Auditions – March 15 and 16 3 PM in the Studio

Senior Solo Night is March 18

Tickets will be available ONLINE ONLY beginning Tuesday, March 9, at 9:00am. 

GRCHS student performers may pick up their allotment of general admission tickets during their regularly-scheduled class time. 

All other guests must order their free, general admission tickets online. 

Intern with Plaster Creek Stewards 🌱

What's more rare than Mr. Borst with a perm? Paid internships! Seriously, you can get a 3 week paid internship with Plaster Creek Stewards this summer. Want to learn more about your watershed, gain skills in green infrastructure (ex. trees, rain gardens, native plants), and get paid to make new friends? Applications are due April 14, 2021.

Chess Club

Chess club will meet after school today from 3-4pm in the upper town square. Players of all skill levels are welcome!

Spanish Immersion Freshmen

You will be taking the ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages® (AAPPL) on Wednesday, March 17. The purpose of this test is to "assess the ability of a candidate to engage in linguistic tasks on topics of personal, social, and academic relevance across the three modes of communication. Each task, such as writing an email message, video-chatting in the target language, or making selections from something heard or read, takes place in the context of the language classroom." If you have any questions about this assessment, please reach out to Sra. Rodríguez. More information to come soon in your SI class. 

2021-22 Semester Internships

If you are planning to register for a semester long internship next school year, you must complete this Internship Application. This includes:

    • Tech Internships (Help Desk)

This application will be closed at the end of the week.

Are you taking the ACT on April 17 or the SAT on May 8?  Focused practice immediately before the test is the best investment you can make!

    • Schedule: Mon-Tue 6-8 PM, Wed-Thur 6-9 PM
