Photo Retakes on Tuesday 📸
Photo retakes are next week Tuesday, Sept. 15 during 6th hr. If you still need a picture taken for this year plan on coming to town square starting at 12:30. We will be sending out a schedule for 10 minute time slots to get this done.
Details from the Dean
Lunch Reminders: You must stay on campus during lunch and eat in your designated area. Do not prop doors open or head to your cars during lunch. If you leave school without permission you will risk losing school privileges including lunch and driving privileges, detention, possible suspension and communication with your parent/guardian. Let's make this a great year by following these important procedures to keep everyone safe.
Lunch Details
There are some new outside eating options for students. If you prefer to sit outside for lunch be sure to follow these important guidelines.
1) 10th-12th graders can exit through the AC gym doors and eat in front of the building. Find a spot between the AC gym and Quest Center to eat. There are benches, steps and grassy areas to eat.
2) 9th graders may eat in the courtyard off of the Quest Center.
3) Students must be 6 feet apart while eating outside.
4) Keep masks on until you sit and begin eating.
5) Be sure to clean up your space after eating.
If we all work together to follow these important procedures, we can continue to offer outside seating for lunch if weather permits. Have a great day.

Free Meals! 👀
ALL STUDENTS can get FREE breakfast and lunch! You must get a qualified meal with 3 of the 5 components (grain, protein, fruit, veg, milk). A la carte beverage and snacks are still extra. Meals will be free until further notice.
Friday: Fredo Friday—chicken fettuccine alfredo, Caesar salad, fruit choice, garlic roll
Monday: chicken crispitos, Spanish rice, tortilla chips
☕ The Coffee Shop is open in the servery each morning before school from 7:30 - 8:15!

Global Ambassadors 🌏
Global Ambassadors is starting up again this year, with our first meeting on Tuesday, September 15! The meeting is during Focus B (lunch A). Anyone who was a member last year or is interested this year is invited to join us in the garage. If the focus time fills up, we will provide a zoom link that others can join with, so everyone who wants to be a part of what we do at GA, can be. We are so excited, and hope to see you there!

Peer Tutoring and Writing Center are open for business!
Peer Tutoring is located in the Fishbowl meeting room in the upper town square. Peer Tutoring can help you stay organized, complete homework, and prepare for assessments! Drop in any time during your RP or email Mr. Campbell (dcampbell@grcs.org) to set up an appointment.

Because visitors are not allowed on campus this fall, college visits will occur virtually. Please check SCOIR and morning announcements for upcoming visits and sign up for the appropriate Focus Time. Virtual students are encouraged to join via the link in SCOIR.

Mayor's Youth Council
Mayor Rosalynn Bliss and Our Community's Children are accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Mayor's Youth Council from 9th - 12th grade students who live within the city limits of Grand Rapids.
Mayor's Youth Council members serve a one year term from October to May. Council members broaden the scope of youth leadership in city government by discussing policy issues that affect them with the Mayor, City Commission, and staff; gathering input from area youth; promoting awareness of the strengths and abilities of youth; and coordinating with other local and national organizations.
