Transitioning to Virtual Learning on Wednesday

As you likely heard, the Governor and the Department of Health and Human Services announced new restrictions in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. Part of this plan includes all high schools moving to virtual learning effective Wednesday, November 18. The current plan would call for a return to in-person learning on Thursday, December 10 at GRCHS.

We have been preparing for this news, and beginning Wednesday, we will follow this virtual schedule.

Please also take a few minutes to review our virtual learning commitments.

Check your email for full details!

Activities & Clubs

Sophomores

The counselors will be meeting with all sophomores today to begin building a career profile. You will be meeting during your regular RP time. Please check in with your RP monitor and then head to the band room (7th hour RP students will meet in room 223).

If you are a virtual student or don't have an RP, the counselors will send you a video of the presentation for you to watch.

Something new is coming... a guys-only singing group called Men Aloud

A Cappella groups are on popular TV, at every major college, and now right here at GRCHS. Singing old and new pop music, barbershop...you name it!  Also looking for a vocal percussionist (beatboxing)!  If you want to sing with camaraderie, come join, all guys welcome! Focus Time B, today, search for "Men Aloud". Email Mrs. Sytsma with questions csytsma@grcs.org.

Lunch and Focus Time Opportunities

Are you missing friends who are learning virtual? Are you interested in making connections with those students who are in your classroom, but you don't get to see each day? The Hospitality and Inclusion branch of Student Congress is putting together two opportunities to connect with virtual students.

1) Gather for lunch with your virtual friends. We can secure you a room to Zoom with friends over lunch

2) Join friends during a Focus Time game! We would love to provide times where groups of students can connect and relax (think a fun Kahoot, Mafia, a virtual project/scavenger hunt)

If you have an interest in either of these two opportunities, please let us know (jwatson@grcs.orgndekoster@grcs.org)! We know how important community and connectedness are and want to assist in making them happen!
