Welcome Back!

School Lunch 🥙

Monday: Pork BBQ sliders, curly fries, fruit

Tuesday: Taco beef, BBQ pork, chicken, queso, toppings, rice, beans

Students: you can get a free breakfast everyday.

Choices include: smoothie, Big Apple bagel, yogurt parfait, PopTarts or a warm breakfast sandwich. Stop by the servery between 7:30-8:30 for your free breakfast!

COVID Vaccination Update 

The West Michigan Vaccine Clinic at DeVos Place, operated by Kent County, Spectrum Health and Mercy Health in collaboration with Vaccinate West Michigan is expanding vaccine availability to all 16 and older, immediately. Spectrum Health clinics are also open to those 16 and older.  

Clinics operate by appointment only. 

Patients can now self-schedule online by visiting vaccinatewestmi.com/register. To set up an appointment for someone ages 16 or 17 or those needing special assistance, please call 833.755.0696. A parent or guardian must accompany minors to their appointment.

— The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine currently approved for 16 and 17 year olds. Those 18 and up and eligible for Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.

— Vaccine volume is still limited and it may take time to get an appointment. Please be patient.

Let’s all keep working together to do what we know works and keep COVID-19 cases down:

— Keep masks on, nose to chin

— Keep socially distanced and avoid large gatherings

— Get tested if you think you’ve been exposed

— Register and get vaccinated

Seniors!

Secret Seniors is just around the corner, April 26-30! Think of it as Secret Santa's but in April! Try to keep your spending to $20 for the entire week. After you sign up, you will receive an email (from Lauri Hanenburg) the following week so you can plan for your secret senior!

Senior Lunch starts on Tuesday. Grab your lunch and head outside to the North Field. There will be games and time to eat and relax with your friends. Tuesday senior lunches will be for focus time and lunch. 

Improv Show

Experience a one-of-a-kind blend of theatre, comedy, and spontaneity at the GRCHS Improv Show! Students will present live improvisational comedy in which the plot, characters, and dialogue of a scene are made up on the spot, based on audience suggestions. The show is April 19 from 6-8pm in the Center for Arts and Worship at GRCHS. This event is free, but tickets will be required for entry.  All tickets must be "purchased" online in advance - there will be no walk up or in person tickets the night of the show.  Masks are required. See you there!

Eagle Links is hosting a pop can & plastic grocery bag drive in honor of Earth Day (April 22) & to benefit Mel Trotter Ministries. ♻️

Please bring pop cans & plastic grocery bags to room 219 (right next to teachers' lounge upstairs) now through the end of April. Thank you in advance for your support!

National Honor Society

Current Sophomores and Juniors are invited to apply for the National Honor Society (NHS) next school year 2021-22. NHS works to connect students with service opportunities both within our school community and the Grand Rapids area. Students must attend monthly meeting, maintain a GPA 3.7, and complete 16 hours of service during the school year.

Please complete this online application by April 15 (the Thursday after Spring Break). Students will be notified later in April if they are accepted into NHS. Note: Current NHS members do not need to reapply for next year.

Chess Club

Chess club will meet after school today from 3-4pm in the upper town square. Players of all skill levels are welcome!

Want to learn more about your watershed, gain skills in green infrastructure (ex. trees, rain gardens, native plants), and get paid to make new friends?
