Laptop Turn-In Information:

Be sure to check your email for information about laptop return. If you have questions, feel free to stop by the Help Desk or email Mrs. Hurtman.

Laptop Return will take place May 31 - June 3 from 7:45am - 12:30pm. BE SURE TO ERASE YOUR LAPTOP BEFORE COMING TO TURN-IN.

End of Year Book Collection 📚

9th—11th books will be collected before each exam starts, May 31-June 3. For example, students who have a 1st period Government exam should bring their textbook to the exam. Students will not be permitted to enter the exam if they do not return their books. A $5 fine will be assessed each day for books that are turned in late.

Exam Schedule

Second-semester 9-11th grade exams are Tuesday — Friday, May 31-June 3. Two exams are scheduled each day.

• The first exam begins at 8:30 am and ends at 10:00 am. Students should arrive by 8:20 to ensure they are in their seats ready to begin at 8:30.
• The second exam begins at 10:15 am and ends at 11:45 am

Students are only required to be present for the exams they have scheduled (e.g. if you have a first-period class and a second-period study hall, you may leave for the day at 10:00 am.)

Buses will run on their normal morning schedules and will depart from GRCHS following the second exam. 

Schedule for Exams May 31 - June 3

• Tuesday: 1st and 2nd hr
• Weds: 3rd and 4th hr
• Thurs: 5th and 6th hr
• Friday: 7th and 8th hr

Free Books: 📚

Come and take a look at books that are free to a good home. Fiction available in the upper town square outside of the learning commons.

Exam Week Coffee Shop

The Coffee shop will be open 7:30 to 8:20am and from 8:45 to10:00, Tuesday through Friday.  You are not allowed to bring food into your exams.  We will not be serving bagels, smoothies or parfaits.   All grab and go items, which do make up a FREE  breakfast.   Good Luck and have a great summer!

Ukraine Fundraiser

Thank you to all who purchased stickers and ice pops at our Ukraine Fundraiser sale last week. We are excited at the possibilities ahead of us in regard to bringing students to GRCHS. We will have a short sale of ice pops to end the school year on Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27 during lunch. Please consider buying an ice pop as the proceeds go directly to helping bring a student here to study! 

Covid Testing 🧞

We still have Covid testing available here at school upon request. Please use this form to make your testing request: Covid Test Request 

You will need to arrive at school by 8:00am (M/W/F) or 7:30am (T/TH). Covid testing is done in the athletics office or the Quest Center Lobby, depending on demand. Students should report to the athletics office where they will be directed to the testing location. It is the responsibility of the student to come for a test.

Activities & Clubs 

FCA @ GRC!

We are starting a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) here at GR Christian! This bible study group is open to all students interested in growing in their faith, although the content is geared toward athletically-minded individuals. Meetings will begin this summer - we'll meet at Noon in Room 220 on the dates listed below. We'll have pizza available as well for the students.

Summer dates: Wed June 8, Wed June 22, Mon June 27, Wed July 13, Wed July 20

Animal Sitter Needed!

Do you love animals? Do you like to nurture? Would you like to babysit a hedgehog this summer (or even permanently adopt him)? All supplies and food would be provided! If interested, come meet Quilliam - the albino hedgehog - in room #118 and talk with Mr. Hoekstra. Thanks!

Summer Camp Work Openings!!  ☀️

Grace Adventures, Paradise Ranch, and Dunes Harbor Family Camp excel in providing summer camp and family camping experiences to kids and families on their campuses in West Michigan near the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Working at camp gives you hands-on training and experience in leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and teamwork (all essential skills for any future job). There are lots of different positions available. Anyone interested can find out more about which positions are open and how they can make an impact this summer. Or you can email Hannah with specific questions.
