School Business

Focus Time Attendance

Students, please attend your assigned focus session. If you do not hear your name called or do not see it on a sign in sheet, check the app and go to your assigned session. If you are unsure where to go, check with Mrs. Wierenga in the main office. Students who are marked absent from focus are assigned detention. 

Attending the wrong session means you are marked absent and assigned detention. 

Driving in the Neighborhood

Students, please be careful drivers in our parking lot and side streets - look out for pedestrians and obey stop signs/speed limits. Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood and each other safe!

Winterim 2022 Registration is this week! 

Registration is done online by seniority and on a first-come, first-served basis. Mr. Karsten will send an email the day before your registration with instructions and a link. Be sure to check your email regularly!

Youth Culture Club (YCC): Ms. Das' room, room 110

Focus Time Tuesday, October 19, 2022: YCC: Food and Water Shortages

Grace Kormash will be informing students about food and water shortages around the world. The issue she will be focusing on is how can we work together to shift a surplus of food and resources to regions that are experiencing shortages.

Prayer Meeting

Athletics

Competitive Cheer

If you or any of your friends are interested in competitive cheer, please sign up here!

Clinics will be held Nov 8th and 9th 4:00-5:30pm in the cheer room located in the Quest Center.

Tryouts will be held Nov 10th 4-5:30pm. 

You MUST have a physical form turned in to the athletics office prior to participating in clinics and tryouts. Please only sign up if you are strongly considering joining this year's team. Coach Ashion and Coach Celeste are excited for this upcoming season!

Wrestling Team

Anyone interested in joining the wrestling team please join Coach Dykema on Friday for focus time in the golf room.

Bowling Team

Coach Vander Ploeg will be holding a meeting for anyone interested in joining the Bowling Team this coming season. The meeting will be held in Borst's Rm 106, on Friday, October 15 at 12:45pm - get your lunch first.  I look forward to seeing all of you at this meeting. Team tryouts will begin on Monday, November 15, 2021. Tryouts will be at our home lanes (Park Center Lanes). Tryouts will be comprised of bowling 6 games over 2-3 days. Varsity teams will be selected based on averages.

Knock’em Down Eagles!

Eagle Folks,

Cornerstone University and FCA is hosting a 3 on 3 tournament on Saturday, October 30th. Cost is $50. Contact Cayden Kregel at ckregel@fcs.org or text at 616-214-2349 if you are interested.

Senior Eagle Student Athletes,

The most prestigious award given by the MHSAA is the MHSAA Scholar Athlete Award. Only 32 of the best student-athletes from across the state will be awarded the $2,000 scholarship and the designation of MHSAA Scholar Athlete winner.

This award is intended for the elite student and elite athlete. GR Christian can only have 4 male and 4 female senior applicants as a Class B school. The minimum is a 3.5 GPA and a varsity sport in your senior year. 

See Mr. Heerema in the Athletic Office for the code to be able to do the application and if you have any questions.
