Join us next Saturday, May 6, for our second annual Spring into Auction, hosted by the GRCMS PTO. This will be a fun night of bidding, eating yummy food, and listening to Steve DeBoer MC the night away! We have some exciting items/opportunities that will be available for YOU! Dress Code at GRCMS
Parents/Guardians, please note we will be consistently monitoring the dress code here at school. We want to ensure there is clarity to both parents and students in what the expectations are, here at GRCMS.
The style and manner in which a student dresses while attending school and school-related functions is largely the responsibility of the student and the parent/guardian. Thank you for your help in supporting and partnering with us. You may view the handbook for further information/details.
All School Choir Concert 🎶
The All-School Choir Concert (Grades 5–8) is Monday, May 8 at 7 pm at the Center for Arts and Worship at Grand Rapids Christian High School. This is a ticketed event; and reserved seating tickets are free. Each family may reserve up to 3 tickets for this event. Tickets will be available starting Monday, April 24 at 9:00am. To reserve your family's tickets, use THIS LINK. Please be sure to share your child's name in the remarks box near the bottom of the checkout page.
If you would like additional tickets, please contact Julie Zandstra at firstname.lastname@example.org. Up to two (2) additional tickets per student will be made available to families on a first come, first served basis.
Ushers for the concert: We are in need of eight ushers for the Choir concert. If you are able to help, you will also receive two extra tickets. If interested, please email Amanda in the school office.
8th grade parents/guardians
Yesterday you should have received two important emails regarding 8th grade graduation details. One gives information about ordering tickets for the graduation ceremony and the other is about ordering a specific size t-shirt for your graduate. Please click on the proper links to order tickets and t-shirts. If you did not receive an email or have questions, please email Kristi in the office.
Chaperones for 8th grade party
8th-grade graduation is quickly approaching, and to help celebrate the students we will be having a party at 3 Mile Project on Wednesday, May 31. Please consider helping our 8th grade celebration night be a success by being a chaperone. There are still a number of time slots available – You may sign up here!
Host a GRCMS International Student
Have you ever considered being a home away from home for an international middle school student for the school year? We have a young lady joining our GRCMS community (grade 7) next year and she is looking forward to joining our school and an American family! If you are interested in other cultures, enjoy hospitality, and want to have an enduring impact on a young person's life then this could be a great opportunity for your family! Current 8th – 11th graders planning to play sports at Grand Rapids Christian High School in the 2023-24 school year need to have an MHSAA physical form on file with the high school athletic office before they are allowed to participate. A valid physical for 2023-24 must be completed.
You may turn in the completed physical to the GRCHS athletic office by mail or email as soon as you finish it, even if it is before the end of this school year or during the summer. You may print out a physical form here.
GRCHS Class of 2027 – Make-Up 8th Grade Scheduling Night
Grand Rapids Christian Middle School and Rockford Christian School 8th graders that are planning to attend GRCHS and did not participate in one of the previous 8th Grade Scheduling Nights should plan to attend the make-up night on Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 pm in the DeVos Center for Arts & Worship. Students and their parents will be presented with curriculum and course options for 9th grade, have an opportunity to ask questions and meet with their assigned counselor to select classes for their freshman year. GRCHS Stage Company...For Incoming Freshman
Are you interested in theatre and want to be part of the drama program at GRCHS? Join The Grand Rapids Christian High School Stage Company on Tuesday, May 2nd from 7:00 - 8:00 pm for an Open House at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship. All incoming 9th grade students and parents are encouraged to attend. Participants will have the opportunity to tour our facilities, meet with current students, and learn more about the opportunities students have to be involved in the numerous classes and shows produced by the GRCHS Stage Company each year. To attend, please RSVP for the event by Friday, April 28th.
2022 – 2023 Yearbook
You are still able to order your yearbook at www.balfour.com. The cost is $35 for a hardcover, 96-page, full-color book. Order now to ensure you get one this Spring!
If you are interested in advertising your business in the GRCMS yearbook, please contact Heidi Zylstra, yearbook coordinator, at email@example.com. The deadline for accepting advertisements will be the last week of March. Late submissions will not be accepted, so make sure to get them in!
The yearbook team is collecting sports photos to include in the yearbook! If you coached or you have a child that participated in a school sport, please email any photos you may have (team, candid, action shots) to firstname.lastname@example.org. We would also love any pictures from the Variety Show! Thank you for your help!
General Health Awareness
- PLEASE keep the school office informed of any symptoms, illnesses, and test results that prevent your student from attending school. All absences need to be reported to the school office (email@example.com, 616.574.6389)
- Thank you for keeping your kids home when they are sick. Children who have two or more cold-like symptoms, any child with a fever, and any child who vomits or has diarrhea should remain out of school for 24 hours after symptoms subside and without the use of medication.

Please note that lunch at the Middle School is $3.15, which includes fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain, meat/meat alternate and cold milk.
'Spring into Auction' 📅
You are invited to the second annual Spring into Auction, hosted by the GRCMS PTO. Join us for a fun evening of bidding, local food trucks, and beverages served by The Crushed Grape.

We continue to participate in the Box Tops program using the digital app. It is easy to participate! Simply download the free box tops app, select GRCMS, shop at your favorite grocery store, and scan your receipt. PTO receives support when you purchase participating products throughout the year. Please note: We no longer collect physical box tops; all box tops must be submitted via the app. Thank you!
