Spring Break!

Masks 😷

Please make sure that your student(s) come to school with a mask and have an extra in their backpack. There are extras in the office, but we have gone through many this school year. Thank you!

Improv Club for 7th & 8th graders!

After school Improv Club is coming! We will meet after school in the Village Square on Thursdays from 3:00 pm  — 4:30 pm, starting April 15th. There is no cost – you just need to show up (after you sign up) with your creativity and imagination. If you are interested, please sign-up in the office or here by April 2nd!  Please see Mrs. Seth with any questions.

Yearbook Sport Pictures 📸

The yearbook is in need of Winter and Spring sports photos – the deadline to submit is Spring Break! Please send a digital copy to

Crossing Guard Update 🚸

Beginning on Monday, April 12, a crossing guard will be present at the Burton/Breton intersection both in the morning and afternoon. This service will continue until the end of the school year. Families, thank you for being patient as we worked out all the details.

Water Bottles 💧

Please continue to send a water bottle to school with your student(s), as the drinking fountains are off. The bottle filler is on! With the warmer weather here, it is important that the students have their water bottles. Thank you!

Attendance Reminder

If your student is going to be late or absent, PLEASE contact the office. You may call the attendance line, 616.574.6389, and leave a message 24/7, or email If emailing a teacher, please cc the attendance email as well. Thank you for your help! If a student is marked absent, the office will call home to verify a late arrival or absence.

Lost and Found

All Lost and Found items will be set out near classrooms this week for kids to take a look through. All items that are left unclaimed by Spring Break will be donated to New 2 you.

COVID Safety Protocols

  • If your child or a family member is awaiting Covid test results, family members should quarantine until a negative test result is indicated.
  • PLEASE keep the school office informed of symptoms and test results.
  • GRCS works closely with the Kent County Health Department. We have been trained in determining the need for quarantine. Please call with any questions.

Traffic Reminders & Improvement 🚗

When dropping your student off, please pull as far forward through the car line as possible.  Students can walk a little farther to their assigned door!  This will greatly improve traffic flow!

  • Please DO NOT park on the MAIN roadways to wait for your student!  (Chesaning and N. Shiawassee are OFF LIMITS!)
  • Please respect the neighbor’s property (do not drive on the lawn, do not block driveways).
  • The entrance near the school office is for buses only during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. 

Moms In Prayer

Attention, Moms! Do you worry about your children? Come experience how you can replace your anxiety and fear with peace and hope by praying with other women. Moms in Prayer gathers women together to pray specifically and scripturally for our children and their schools.

Hot Lunch News & Updates

Food Service Workers

Looking for fun, servant-minded serving staff to work 2–3 days per week in foodservice. This may lead to 5-day employment in the fall — a great opportunity to be at school where your children or grandchildren attend. We are looking for staff at Iroquois Elementary,  GRCMS, and GRCHS. Depending on the site, these positions average 3 — 4 hours per day. No experience is needed.

Free and Reduced Lunch Benefits

We encourage you to fill out a meal application if you feel you would qualify for Free and Reduced meals. For those of you that received a P-EBT card this past summer — a  debit card that offers grocery dollars for each child. USDA passed a second bill to reinstate the program in January for virtual learners. One of the criteria to qualify is to have an application filled out.

Staff, student, and parent directories are available online.

For quick access to the staff directory, select Contact at To access the student and parent directories on the Parent Portal, select Parents > Parent Portal and log in to your Parent Portal account.

GRCMS Athletics and Youth Sports    

Sport Physicals

Current 8th–11th graders planning to play sports at Grand Rapids Christian High School in the 2021-2022 school year need to have an MHSAA physical form on file with the high school athletic office before they are allowed to participate. A valid physical for 2021-22 must be completed any time after April 15, 2021.

You may turn in the completed physical to the GRCHS athletic office by mail or email (to as soon as you finish it, even if it is before the end of this school year or during the summer. You may print out a physical form here.  

This form must be completed with all signatures in order to participate in sports at GRCHS. You may attach your doctor’s office physical form for the doctor portion of this form but the parent portion and all signatures need to be completed on this form.

Football Fun 🏈 

The Middle School students had fun with the GR Christian co-head football coaches when they joined us for some football in our PE classes. Our students had tons of fun running through football drills and learning about the game!

GRC Youth Sports and Recreation Programs  

Did you know GRC has its own Recreation Department? We offer sports programs for GRCS students and students from the surrounding area. For a complete look at what we have to offer, go to

Our programs will follow the same Health and Safety Protocols as we are following at school. Masks for coaches, hand sanitizer for players, disinfectants for equipment, and social distancing will all be observed.
