Final Home Bulletin

This marks the last Home Bulletin of the school year. Have a fun, safe, and healthy summer! We will see everyone back here in August!

Congratulations Graduates!

Congrats to the 8th graders! After putting in many hours for their project exams, they get to celebrate graduation tomorrow. We will miss the 8th graders and wish them all the best in high school next year!

End of Year Device Turn In 💻

All Virtual Students — All equipment due in school by 3:00 on the last day of school Thursday, May 27. 

There are a handful of students that have not yet turned in their devices or pieces of tech. If this is the case, please expect an email from jhaaksma@grcs.org. Everything is DUE on Thursday, May 27 by 3:00 pm

Medication

We require all medication that is kept at school for students to be picked up on, or before Thursday, May 27. We can not store it over the summer.

Parents of students with medication at school have been emailed. Please call the school with any questions, 616.574.6300. 

Retirement Celebration — Grada Groen

Join us in celebrating Grada Groen's upcoming retirement! Please send notes or cards of appreciation and congratulations for Grada's wonderful years of teaching to the GRCS Iroquois campus at 1050 Iroquois Dr. GR 49506

FACES Program

In the past, our school has hosted students through the FACES Program. 

These young participants spend nearly two months living with a host family while attending classes and participating in extracurricular activities at school. The program has led to wonderful friendships and has provided our students and our guests with a widened perspective of the world.

If your family would like to consider Hosting a Guatemalan Ambassador during the 2021 Fall; we encourage you to join a Zoom Meeting hosted by the FACES Team Coordinators.

Lost & Found

Please remind your students to claim any items in the lost and found before leaving for the summer. Items left at school after May 27 will be donated to New2You.

After School Care Information  

With a noon dismissal on the last day of school, Thursday, May 27, there will be NO After School Care. Thank you to our families that participated in this After School program this year.

Moms In Prayer

Attention, Moms! Do you worry about your children? Come experience how you can replace your anxiety and fear with peace and hope by praying with other women. Moms in Prayer gathers women together to pray specifically and scripturally for our children and their schools.

PTO 2021–2022 School Year

PTO plans for next school year are in the works! If you are interested in being a part of PTO or want to get involved in one or more activities/events, please reach out. Consider submitting digital box tops!! It is an easy way to make money for the school. All you have to do is shop, scan, and submit! Make sure you select Grand Rapids Christian Middle School to get the credit. You can sign–up here! From November – February this school year we made $163.90, just from submitting receipts! Thank you to all who take the time to do this!

GRCMS Athletics   

Fall Sports Sign-Ups 

Sign-ups are due by Friday, June 4. Please click HERE to get your student registered for Fall sports.

Sport Physicals

Current 8th–11th graders planning to play sports at Grand Rapids Christian High School in the 2021-2022 school year need to have an MHSAA physical form on file with the high school athletic office before they are allowed to participate. A valid physical for 2021-22 must be completed any time after April 15, 2021.

You may turn in the completed physical to the GRCHS athletic office by mail or email to cgroendyk@grcs.org as soon as you finish it, even if it is before the end of this school year or during the summer. You may print out a physical form here.  

This form must be completed with all signatures in order to participate in sports at GRCHS. You may attach your doctor’s office physical form for the doctor portion of this form, but the parent portion and all signatures need to be completed on this form.
