Reporting Absences and Late Arrivals

Please remember to notify the office about late arrivals and absences, even if you also notify the teachers. Please specify the illness rather than just saying a child is 'sick'. Emailing notices is quick and easy at IRAttendance@grcs.org. Or call the attendance line at 616.574.6590 and leave a voicemail. Both are accessible 24/7.

Parents or guardians should accompany students into the building and sign them out and back in for any appointments during the school day. 

Busing

Please contact GRCS Transportation Director, Tim Hoving, with any busing questions or concerns at 616.574.5710.

Lost and Found 

Click Here to view photos of lost and found items. Email Laura at lszotko@grcs.org to claim items or stop inside the lobby and view the lost and found in person. Please get in the habit of checking it regularly as items are donated throughout the year. 

Sick Policy

Students should be symptom and fever-free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school. 

Birthday Treats

Please know that sending birthday treats is certainly not required, but if you choose to send treats to celebrate your child's birthday, please make note of the following:

Treats should be 

• individually wrapped
• pre-packaged
• store-bought

We encourage a healthy option rather than sugary sweets. You are welcome to send non-edible prize-type items rather than food.

SpartanNash Direct Your Dollars Program

Please save SpartanNash (D&W Fresh Market, Family Fare, Forest Hills Foods, and Ada Fresh Market) receipts. Send them to school via backpack or mail them to GRCES, 1050 Iroquois Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506 Attn: Laura.

SpartanNash will donate $1000 to our school for every $150,000 of receipts. Thanks for participating in this EASY fundraiser for our PTO!
 

PaperGator

The PaperGator bin is located in the parking lot right by the field. Fill it with junk mail, magazines, newspapers, and school papers. Collect from family and friends too! Spread the word! Click here for the list of accepted items: papergatorrecycling.com/accepted-materials/.
