The Season of Wonder

It’s hard to believe that December is here!  With that, Christmas is right around the corner!  This is a time where we start thinking about gifts and planning for special Christmas foods!  It is also a time of Advent, of remembering and preparing for the true meaning of Christmas...the coming of Christ into the world.

This Advent season, at GRCMS, we want to pause and take some time to wonder about what Christmas really means.  Sometimes we just get used to hearing the same Christmas story year after year.  But do you ever think to really WONDER about it?  Do you wonder what it felt like to be Mary? What was it like for Joseph to take on the role of Jesus’ earthly father? Do you wonder why God wanted to send His son for YOU? What might you wonder this Christmas season about Jesus coming to this earth to save YOU?

Wonder is a word often used around Christmas time. But we often stop far short of the real wonder of Christmas. As we busy ourselves getting ready for the holiday, let’s carve some time this season to sit and ponder the wonder of “Christ with us.” Here at the middle school, we plan to help your children put thought and energy into sharing that wonder of Jesus’ birth and the true meaning behind it for each of us.

I am praying that all of you may have a blessed and healthy Christmas season. May you be blessed by those around you as well as be a blessing to many!
