He Restores My Soul

What an amazing year it has been! I can hardly believe we have stumbled upon the last week of the school year. The year has not been short on trials and tribulations, but it has also been full of beauty and blessings! I recently read a devotional by Max Lucado called Safe in the Shepherd’s Arms. He reminds us that with Psalm 23 as our guide, we can release our burdens, throw off our fears, and rest safely in the Shepherd’s arms. As we move into summer and the perfect opportunity for soul restoration, Lucado reminds me that “the Master Builder will pull out the original plan and restore it. He will restore the vigor. He will restore the energy. He will restore the hope. He will restore the soul.” Trials and tribulations? Yes! But God restores! He makes it clear in his Word that he walks beside us. “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20. Throughout this year, I have felt God’s support and presence through the support of our community.

As we wind down this school year, I celebrate the beauty and a blessings that have been showered upon our students and staff at GRCMS. Students have been learning in person all year! Families have gathered for concerts, sporting events and more! Teachers have been able to put students together in small groups again for collaboration! Service work, field trips and grade level team building activities have resumed! …and my favorite part, we have been able to worship together again in Village Square! On May 20 we held a special chapel to pray over all of our 8th graders and we will celebrate them together and how God has shaped them through these years at an in person graduation this week! There are many more blessings than we can count.

I want to thank you for your prayers and kind support. The encouraging emails, texts, and conversations mean so much! I care deeply for your children. I thank you for entrusting them to us, and I value your partnership. I am humbled to be able to serve you and your children at GRCMS. I pray that each of you will have a blessed summer with a genuine time of soul restoration.
