Rockford Principal's Corner — January 5, 2021

Dear Rockford Christian Families,

It is good to be back!

I pray your time away from school allowed for togetherness with those you love and space to celebrate and reflect upon Christ’s birth. My two-and-a-half-year-old son loved hearing the Christmas story and playing with his Nativity set. It was wonderful to experience the season through his eyes — we have so much to learn from our kids’ joy and wonder.

I’m reminded of Jesus telling his disciples to “let the little children come to me.” It is so often kids, not yet fully shaped or formed by the values and norms of our world, that are the first to recognize when the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. As far as New Year’s Resolutions go, adopting the hope and trust of a child feels like a great one.

Let us also continue to build upon our solid foundation of learning and growth from the first 4 months of school. The flexibility and commitment of our teachers, students, and families have made for a smooth start of the school year and a promising second semester.

Thank you again for your partnership and support!

In Him,

— Ben Buursma
