Rockford Principal's Corner — September 7, 2021

Dear Rockford Christian School Families,

As the old saying goes, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.”

After a four-day holiday weekend, it was wonderful to see students back at school today. Don’t get me wrong — I loved the extra time with my family, yet the wonderful things happening at school had me excited to come back! I am deeply grateful for this school community and the opportunity we have to serve God and one another in this place.

Our God is a faithful and sustaining God, rich in love and abounding in grace. The blessings we have are so numerous that they can become commonplace, expected even. So often we don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. Whether it’s an unwelcome diagnosis or a loss of someone we love, life can change in an instant.

I encourage you and your family to take a few minutes today to stop and reflect on all the ways God is faithful. Where do you see his hand at work? If you’re having a hard time coming up with examples, volunteer for recess duty some time!

In Him
— Ben Buursma
