K — 4th Grade Art

  • Old adult-sized t-shirt with name written on the front in permanent marker

K — 8 P.E

  • Clean non-marking athletic shoes for indoor PE use that remain indoors
    Sturdy outdoor shoes that can be used on the playground for recess and outdoor PE class (garage sale shoes are fine)

K – 4th Grade General Supplies

  • The K-4 grade teachers will be purchasing next year’s school supplies for you. 
  • You will need to send in $10.00/student to the school office when school starts in August. 
  • If you have more than one student in these grades, you may write just one check to RCS.  
  • Your back-to-school shopping list will not need to include any of the usual pencil boxes, pencils, erasers, markers, folders, binders, staplers, crayons, scissors, etc.  
  • You can spend your time in August replacing those worn-out shoes, jeans, and sweaters instead!  
  • Any extra supplies that you would like to donate will graciously be accepted for classroom use.

1st – 4th Grade Spanish 

  • 1” 3 ring binder (with pockets on the side)

Kindergarten (Miss Hoekstra/Mrs. DeMeester)

  • Backpack, big enough to hold a LARGE library book
  • Inexpensive gym shoes to be kept at school (velcro and non-marking bottoms preferred!)
  • Box of tissues for the classroom
  • Girls — 1 pkg plastic spoons
  • Boys — 1 box of tissues

1st Grade (Mr. Nordling)

  • Box of tissues
  • Post-It Notes (pack of 3 — 3” x 3”)
  • 4-pack of Expo dry erase markers
  • Cloth tote bag with name on it (to carry work materials outside
  • PE shoes to be kept at school
  • 1 roll of masking tape
  • Old t-shirt (for art and painting in the classroom)

2nd Grade (Mrs. Burgess/Mrs. Faber)

  • Girls – 1 pkg. GALLON size Ziploc bags
  • Boys – 1 pkg. QUART size Ziploc bags 
  • Personal/adjustable headphones
  • 4-pack of black Expo dry-erase markers
  • Post-It Notes (pack of 3 — 3” x 3; not the pop-up kind)
  • Box of tissues for the classroom

3rd Grade (Mrs. Iveson/TBD)

  • Sticky Notes (pack of 3 — 3" x 3" inch)
  • Gym shoes
  • Art shirt
  • Personal water bottle
  • Cloth tote (for carrying items outside for outdoor learning)
  • Earbuds or headphones
  • Rain gear (optional, but nice to have boots/coat already at school for recess/outdoor learning
  • when weather is wet)

4th Grade (TBD)

5th/6th Grade Environmental Program Classrooms (Miss Quist/Miss Barrett)

  • One to One iPads                                         
    • Optional: iPad case with a keyboard for 7th or 8th generation 10.2” iPad)     
  • Trapper or Binder (enough to hold five folders and school-provided planner)
  • Earbuds (preferably NOT wireless)
  • Colored  pencils    
  • Pencils (36 qty)                                                        
  • Highlighter 
  • Pencil Case (slim size; goes in binder)
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • 1 package of loose-leaf paper
  • Calculator (inexpensive)
  • NIV Bible

  • The school will provide folders and an organizational system for students.

5th/6th Outdoor Ed

To be kept in locker at school:

  • Outdoor boots
  • Raincoat/poncho
  • Environmental backpack (for adventures)

Spanish

  • A set of 5 divider tabs
  • Loose-leaf paper to put in the binder

7th and 8th Grade (Mr. Christians/Mrs. Oren)

  • Camp Chair

    • Incoming 8th graders may reuse sketchbooks from the previous school year.
    • Wire bound, 100 sheet, 9x12” or 8.5x11.5”
      • Personal sketchbook (Strathmore recycled or student sketchbooks are a good choice, but any comparable brand is fine)

    • 7th Grade only: optional —  iPad with a keyboard for a 6th generation 9.7” iPad

    • 1.5” — 3 ring binder (only to be used for math class)
    • Spiral notebook
    • Pencils/erasers
    • TI-30XIIS Calculator 
    • Math 7 needs only a basic 4-function calculator
    • All other courses need a scientific calculator TI-30XIIS 
  • Spanish 
    • ½” or 1” — 3 ring binder and a spiral notebook
    • A set of 5 divider tabs (one that you can write labels on)
    • Loose-leaf paper to put in the binder
    • A pocket-size English-Spanish dictionary (NOT REQUIRED)
