Class Supply Reminder

If you have not already dropped off your $10 to the office for your student's (K-4) class supplies, please do so as soon as possible.

Drop-Off Reminders

  • Morning drop-off runs from 8:15 am — 8:30 am
  • Students arriving before 8:15 am must be registered for Kids Care before school care.
  • You may drop your child off at the front entrance (elementary students) or middle school entrance (middle school students). Please remain in your vehicle in order to keep the carline moving.
  • If you would like to walk your child to their classroom, you may do so before 8:30 am. All parent visitors must say goodbye by the first bell so that teachers and students may start their day!
  • Students arriving after the 8:35 am tardy bell will need to first stop in the office before heading to class.
  • Please drive safely on campus and do not use cell phones during designated pick-up and drop-off times.

Pick-Up Reminders

  • Pick-up begins when school is dismissed at 3:20 pm and runs until 3:35 pm.
  • Any student planning to stay at school after 3:35 pm must be registered for Kids Care after-school care.
  • Teachers will walk all of their students (including middle schoolers) to the front entrance at the end of the day.
  • The Middle School entrance is reserved in the afternoon for PM bussing.
  • Students (including middle schoolers) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the parking lot at all times. Students may not walk to their car by themselves.
  • If you need to pick up your child before 3:20 pm, please stop in the office so we can get your child for you. Students may not leave school before 3:20 pm without permission from the school office.

A Note From Outdoor Ed

Outdoor Education, at Rockford Christian School, focuses on different facets of God's world. Environmental education, creation appreciation, science, building outdoor classrooms, and connecting classroom learning with the outdoors are all parts of what we do. One component of our program is the service-learning piece that we offer our students as they enter middle school.

Each grade has two different opportunities to be blessings to our community: the adopt-a-park program and the service/volunteer component. We believe students should learn how to reflect God's love by giving to others. We do so with multiple visits to each destination. Here is a list of our middle school line-up for this year:

  • 5th Grade | Adopt a Park: Pickerel Lake, Volunteer/Sevice: Preserve Grass Valley Orchards
  • 6th Grade | Adopt a Park: Versluis Park, Volunteer/Serivce: Frederik Meijer Gardens
  • 7th Grade | Adopt a Park: Seidman Park, Volunteer/Service: Plainsong Farm/Adopt-a-Highway
  • 8th Grade | Adopt a Park: Huff Park, Volunteer/Service: North Kent Connect/Adopt-a-Highway

To find out more about these arrangements, just ask Mr. Phil. We look forward to sharing God's love beyond our campus!

Kids Care Information

RCS is excited to offer Kids Care Before and After Care for registered families. At this time, Kids Care has very limited space. If you are in need of Before or After Care, please email Emily Jansen at ejansen@grcs.org.

For those who are currently enrolled in Kids Care, here are some reminders:

  • Kids Care will be taking place in Room 101, which is located in the first room in the elementary wing
  • Before Care: The front doors will unlock at 7:15 am. We ask parents to walk their children into the building
  • After Care: For pick up, we also ask you to park and go into Room 101. Often in the afternoon, the students will be outside. If so, there will be a note explaining where they are exploring/playing
  • Snacks are not provided during Before, and After Care, so you may want to pack an extra snack for your student

Parents in Prayer

We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!

Parents In Prayer will be meeting on Thursday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.

We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
