Grand Rapids Christian Middle School and Rockford Christian School 8th graders and their parents are invited to attend an 8th Grade Scheduling Night on either TONIGHT or March 2 at 7:00 PM in the DeVos Center for Arts & Worship. GRCHS Summer Session – Incoming Freshman!
At Grand Rapids Christian Schools, we believe a student's learning and growth do not stop when the second semester ends. Summer Session is an exciting way at GRCHS for students to participate in fun enrichment and immersion activities during the summer and earn high school credit. Incoming 9th – 12th-grade students can participate in courses, workshops, college prep activities, and driver's training.
There are many great reasons to take a class during Summer Session:
- For new students: get a taste of academics at Grand Rapids Christian High School! Make a few friends before high school starts!
- Get ahead on graduation requirements
- Make room in your normal school-year schedule for electives and Advanced Placement classes.
- Take unique classes that aren't offered during the school year
- Demonstrate to colleges that you invested in summer enrichment
- Prepare for college entrance exams
All summer offerings are posted online at grcs.org/summer, and registration will begin on March 3 at 8:00 am.
A Note From Outdoor Education
Is it winter? Spring? I am claiming that the weather has some sort of purgatorial vibe going on this year. It just can't quite figure out what season it is. Oh well, onward we go!
We do have contests going on in Outdoor Ed, though! We all make predictions frequently – when will dinner be ready, what will the weather be like tomorrow, how many hours of sleep will I get – and we have turned this prediction-making into two different contests. Each middle school student has predicted the date they think the snow pile by the basketball hoops will finally disappear. Also the Iditarod – "The Last Great Race" – will be kicking off soon and we will be tracking the mushers with daily updates and videos. Each middle school student will be cheering on to the mushers for valuable cash prizes (well, no cash... and very little value, but a prize nonetheless).
Spring jobs have started. We are trying to eradicate autumn olive from our campus. We are preparing our butterfly garden. We are updating our various shelters in the woods. We are still waiting to use our new snowshoes, but we will have to see about that. Onward!

It's Auction time! Mark your calendar now and plan to attend the RCS “Race for the Roses” Auction on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to benefit the Christ-centered and nature-rich education at RCS. This money will be used to enhance outdoor learning spaces, create a nature-based early childhood playscape, and fund new outdoor recreation experiences for our middle school students.

RCS TRIP Office
The TRIP Office is available on Tuesday mornings in the RCS Office!
New to TRIP? TRIP allows you to reduce the cost of tuition by purchasing gift cards and gift certificates for things you buy every day from hundreds of national and local vendors.
How does TRIP work? When you purchase gift cards at face value, a percentage of your purchase is credited to your TRIP account. Two times per year (November 1 and May 1), the accumulated TRIP credits are applied as payment to your tuition account, or donated to the tuition account you have designated.
Parents in Prayer
We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!
Parents In Prayer will be meeting on Wednesday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.
We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
