Are You Ready for Some Football?!

The Varsity co-head coaches from Grand Rapids Christian High School, Rueben Riley, and Kirk Sundberg, will be joining us this week for "Football Takeover Week" here at Rockford Christian!

They started us off yesterday by leading our Family Time and then spread some football excitement and enthusiasm in our PE classes today and will also do so tomorrow!

Coaches Riley and Sundberg will run students through fun football drills, organize games of "ultimate football," and talk about the ways participation in football can help us grow in our character and as followers of Jesus. We are excited for our students to have some football fun!

Family Time

At Rockford Christian, we start each week with Family Time. Although we cannot yet gather in person as a whole community, we do not want to miss out on this important time of worship. You are invited to join us each Monday from 8:45 am — 9:00 am over Zoom.

Please use this link and be sure to turn off your camera and microphone when you arrive. Thanks!

Outdoor Education News

It promises to be a chilly week. When asked how we do outdoor education at RCS in the wintertime, the answer is fairly simple: “We go outside.”

Just in the last couple of weeks, our elementary students have been building snow forts, igloos, quinzhees, and otter slides. Our middle school students have been building outdoor classrooms. They have experienced cross country skiing, studied watersheds and point and non-point pollution, and celebrated our national parks.

Through it all, we continue to go outside. The adventure continues. The complaints have been few. God’s world is beautiful and worth experiencing by immersing ourselves in it.

Let the winter revelry continue!

Virtual Learning Reminder

Virtual learning is for covid related absences only. Parents MUST contact the school office with a 24-hour notice when requesting to move to Virtual Learning and so that students are properly accounted for in case of an emergency.

Tips on Donating Well in 2021

  • We appreciate you keeping sheet sets together and noting the size (twin, queen, etc)
  • Please donate only clean rugs (it's helpful to have measurements marked on them).
  • If you have towels or sheets with stains, rips, or holes (must be 100% cotton), put them in a separate bag and mark them “Lisa’s rags”.
  • Thanks for donating, see you soon!
