Preschool/Kindergarten Registration Now Open to Current Families and Staff!
Preschool and Kindergarten registration is now open for current Rockford Christian families and staff. To see a listing of class options and descriptions click here for Preschool and click here for Kindergarten. Register online here. Remember to use the code Explore (case sensitive) to access the forms. We expect full classes this year, so take advantage of this early registration opportunity before we open classes to new families on January 24th at the Preschool and Kindergarten Open House. The Eagle Experience at GRCHS!
For Middle Schoolers, the transition to high school might be years down the road or a handful of months away. Regardless of the timeline, the decision of where your child will spend their formative high school years is an important one. We recognize that Rockford Christian students have a number of different options to choose from as they move on to their high school years. As you consider the next steps for your child, we want to walk alongside your family and assist you in the decision-making process.
As a part of Grand Rapids Christian Schools, the mission, vision, and values that you have come to love at RCS are the very same ones that guide Grand Rapids Christian High School. We are pleased to invite you to Rockford Christian School on Thursday, January 12 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm to hear from Principal Brad Mockabee about what Grand Rapids Christian High School is all about.
Parents who attend can expect to gain a deeper understanding of Grand Rapids Christian High School, as well as what to keep in mind as their child graduates from Rockford Christian.
GRCHS SHOWCASE 2023
Join us at Grand Rapids Christian High School for SHOWCASE 2023 on Wednesday, January 25. We will begin at 6:45 PM in the DeVos Center for Arts & Worship. THE EAGLE EXPERIENCE is designed for current 8th graders, prospective high school students, and their parents to DISCOVER more, EXPLORE
GLOW NIGHT: 7th & 8th-Grade Dance
The GRCMS PTO is excited to host a GLOW NIGHT dance for our 7th and 8th graders on February 4th, 7-9:00 pm! Join us for a night of refreshments, dancing, games, and a whole lot of fun! 7th and 8th-grade students from GRCMS and Rockford Christian Middle School are invited! You don’t want to miss it!
The cost to attend is $5 at the door. 7th and 8th-grade students have received permission slips and must bring them to the dance in order to attend.
Suggested Attire: There will be black lights and glow lights, so colors like white or neon are really fun! You do not have to be dressy to attend
Join Us for Winterfest!
The PTO is celebrating Winterfest 2023 on Sunday, February 5 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. The event includes both indoor and outdoor fun at Camp Roger. Bring the family and grab a cup of cocoa, eat s'mores and cookies and enjoy some outdoor fun that usually includes broomball and sledding! Questions - reach out to Kristin Buursma. A Note From Outdoor Education
Welcome to 2023! This month in Outdoor Education, we are highlighting five important components of Earthkeeping and what it means to be a creation steward: preservation, conservation, restoration, maintenance, and observation. How does each of these play a role in learning to care for God's world? By the month's end, we hope to have each of our students know the differences and see why each is important as we together strive for understanding creation more fully.
January is typically filled with snow and winter activities. As of now, that looks like both a memory and a hope. In the meantime, continue to be ready for whatever weather is coming our way. After all, we have a new slogan around Room 135 we intend to embody: "Don't just look out the window... get outside!"
Our Pop Can and Spare Change Fund for December was incredible! Combined with the proceeds from our firestarter sale and our Jingle Bells Post Office, we netted $513.09 for Mel Trotter Ministries! THANK YOU!
Let's continue to be a generous community! Next up for January, we will hope to bless Degage' Ministries of Grand Rapids!
RCS PTO News
Our next PTO meeting will be on Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 pm in the RCS staff lounge, near the gym entrance. Please contact Lindsey Toth if you are interested in joining or have questions about serving.

RCS TRIP Office
The TRIP Office is available on Tuesday mornings in the RCS Office!
New to TRIP? TRIP allows you to reduce the cost of tuition by purchasing gift cards and gift certificates for things you buy every day from hundreds of national and local vendors.
How does TRIP work? When you purchase gift cards at face value, a percentage of your purchase is credited to your TRIP account. Two times per year (November 1 and May 1), the accumulated TRIP credits are applied as payment to your tuition account, or donated to the tuition account you have designated.
Parents in Prayer
We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!
Parents In Prayer will be meeting on Wednesday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.
We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
