“Can’t mask AWESOME!”
Thank you to everyone who signed up to bring items for the luncheon and sweet treats. And a big thank you to those who were able to help with recess duties and classroom coverage as well!
Please remember to show extra love & appreciation to the teachers and staff by adding notes to their gift bags—located in the office — they will be there through Thursday, May 13.
2021 RCS Digital Art Show!
By the end of this week, all art will be posted online for the art show! If you haven't already signed up for the Artsonia website, be sure to check it out: artsonia.com, school access code YPTB-HWDN (or better yet, click the link in your email to be directly connected to your student).
Each student will have at least 2 lovely pieces of art on the website, however, if he/she won "best of project" anytime throughout the year, there will be additional pieces.
Artsonia is a great website because it allows you to comment on their artwork and even purchase gifts with the art printed on them! Do you have grandparents who live out of state? Purchase some postcards of your child's art and mail them as a surprise! Better yet, give the grandparents the login information and let them check out the art and gifts themselves!
Mrs. Yeates is very excited to celebrate the student's art with you!
Lost and Found
After May 27, we will keep items for one week after which they will be donated to New 2 You.
At Rockford Christian, we start each week with Family Time. Although we cannot yet gather in person as a whole community, we do not want to miss out on this important time of worship. You are invited to join us each Monday from 8:45 am — 9:00 am over Zoom.
Please use this link and be sure to turn off your camera and microphone when you arrive. Thanks!
Outdoor Education News
Still hoping, still dreaming, still planning, still scheming...the OE Department at RCS has a lot of plans in the works! I hope your students have enjoyed this first year of outdoor education!
So far this year we have built landfills, laid in time capsules, watched killdeer chicks, learned about invasive species, built outdoor classrooms for each grade, and now the bees are here too! Our room is the hub of a lot of excitement on a daily and weekly basis. Thanks again for supporting this program and for your patience as Covid has reduced some of our big ideas...but just wait. Next year will be even better!
Pop Can and Spare Change Fund: $93.10 and still growing for Homes Giving Hope! Help us out with more donations!
Moms, Dads, Grandparents in Prayer
We will meet outdoors, wearing masks, walking, and praying in groups of 2-3.
Here is a link to the mobile prayer sheets. You can use the listed link to pray for your children anytime: momsinprayer.org/group-leaders.
Volunteers are needed daily to supervise children on the playground. Afternoon recess takes place from 12:20 pm — 12:55 pm (elementary until 12:40 pm and then continues to cover middle school until 12:55 pm).
Please consider volunteering as you are able. Kids LOVE seeing loved ones during recess. You can sign up by clicking on Sign-Up Genius.
Current 8th-11th graders planning to play sports at Grand Rapids Christian High School in the 2021-2022 school year need to have an MHSAA physical form on file with the high school athletic office before they are allowed to participate. A valid physical for 2021-22 must be completed any time after April 15, 2021.
You may turn in the completed physical to the GRCHS athletic office by mail or email (to firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as you finish it, even if it is before the end of this school year or during the summer. You may print out a physical form here.
This form must be completed with all signatures in order to participate in sports at GRCHS. You may attach your doctor’s office physical form for the doctor portion of this form but the parent portion and all signatures need to be completed on this form.
