🎶 5th – 8th Grade Christmas Concert 🎶

A note from Mrs. Pollmann: Students have been working hard on singing and playing for our December 5 Band, Orchestra, and Choir concert. Our songs are certain to brighten your evening and bring us full circle to the true reason for the season. Please add Monday, December 5 at 7:00 pm to your calendar for our Middle School Christmas Concert. Students are to arrive at 6:30 pm to warm up! Catch the excitement of Christmas and the reason for the season. See you there!

All School Carol Sing

Kindergarten through Eighth Grade Students will be gathering during Community Time on December 9 to hear a Christmas devotional and to sing songs together. Parents are invited to join us from 2:40 – 3:10 pm.

K-4 Christmas Program

Rockford Christian Elementary presents: "Come to the Manger!" This program is an interactive lesson and carols production. You will enter into our musical experience by listening to songs and true stories, joining us in singing about the true reason for the season. Please reserve Tuesday, December 13 at 7:00 pm on your calendar. You won't want to miss it!

Early Release Day – December 7

Just a reminder that on Wednesday, December 7, all Grand Rapids Christian Schools, including Rockford Christian, will be dismissing preschool students at 11:15 am and K-8 students at 11:30 am. Please note, if your student rides Rockford Public School Transporation, there will be no transportation available at the time of dismissal. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

A Note From Outdoor Education

One of the signs in my room states, "Don't just look out the window... GET OUTSIDE!" Ironically, the message is painted on a window that is leaning against a window. The message is obvious in that it is coming from an OE teacher, but at Rockford Christian School, it is also an axiom that is at the core of who we are. One hope I have for our students is to offer positive outdoor experiences for them so that they may grow up loving creation in a way that leads them into valuing it. When we value something, we will take care of it. Taking care of God's world is a cause that we all need to embrace. It all starts with getting outside. Have a great Thanksgiving... and don't forget to thank God for the beauty of his creation.

RCS PTO News

The PTO will have our Christmas Celebration off-campus in the first week of December. If you're a PTO member, please watch for an email invitation.

Our next PTO meeting will be on Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 pm in the RCS staff lounge, near the gym entrance. Please contact Lindsey Toth if you are interested in joining or have questions about serving.

If you would like to join our Auction Committee to help plan the spring auction, please contact Allison Breuker.

Take a look at the meeting minutes from the October 27 PTO Meeting.

RCS TRIP Office

The TRIP Office is available on Tuesday mornings in the RCS Office!

New to TRIP? TRIP allows you to reduce the cost of tuition by purchasing gift cards and gift certificates for things you buy every day from hundreds of national and local vendors.

How does TRIP work? When you purchase gift cards at face value, a percentage of your purchase is credited to your TRIP account. Two times per year (November 1 and May 1), the accumulated TRIP credits are applied as payment to your tuition account, or donated to the tuition account you have designated.

Parents in Prayer

We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!

Parents In Prayer will be meeting on Wednesday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.

We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
