A Note From Outdoor Education
"Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus..." So begins an old hymn that captures the spirit of what Advent is all about. We wait for the Savior to arrive only to find that he chooses to do so in an amazingly humble way. The Outdoor Ed program at RCS will highlight the joy and expectation of Advent this month as we anticipate the miracle of Christmas.
Our Pop Can/Spare Change Project will benefit Mel Trotter Ministries which serves people who are facing difficult living conditions - not that much unlike Joseph and Mary. We presently have $45.30 raised. And back by popular demand this holiday season, the OE program will be selling firestarters at $5/dozen with proceeds also going to Mel Trotter Ministries. See Ashley in the office if you wish to purchase these great stocking stuffers!
By the way, if you want to have a winter campout with your child, you are welcome to use our new dugout shelter! Just sign up with Mr. Phil for a night and you can reserve it for free!
RCS PTO News
The PTO will have our Christmas Celebration off-campus in the first week of December. If you're a PTO member, please watch for an email invitation.
Our next PTO meeting will be on Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 pm in the RCS staff lounge, near the gym entrance. Please contact Lindsey Toth if you are interested in joining or have questions about serving.
If you would like to join our Auction Committee to help plan the spring auction, please contact Allison Breuker.
Take a look at the meeting minutes from the October 27 PTO Meeting.
RCS TRIP Office
The TRIP Office is available on Tuesday mornings in the RCS Office!
New to TRIP? TRIP allows you to reduce the cost of tuition by purchasing gift cards and gift certificates for things you buy every day from hundreds of national and local vendors.
How does TRIP work? When you purchase gift cards at face value, a percentage of your purchase is credited to your TRIP account. Two times per year (November 1 and May 1), the accumulated TRIP credits are applied as payment to your tuition account, or donated to the tuition account you have designated.
Parents in Prayer
We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!
Parents In Prayer will be meeting on Wednesday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.
We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
