Colder weather is in the forecast and seems to be here to stay! Please ensure that you send your student in weather-appropriate attire, which may include breaking out those hats and gloves. 

The Lost and Found has accumulated several items over the last few months. Take a moment to review the items virtually by clicking here. If you find something that belongs to your student, please either pick it up in the office or email Ashley Howe. All items that are not found will be donated on Friday, November 12 to New2You.

Save the Date — Expedition Kindergarten is Coming!

Parents of preschoolers who will be 5 by September 1, 2022 – Save the Date!

We have a night planned just for you – Expedition Kindergarten! Join us on Tuesday, December 7, at 6:30 pm for a special expedition and see some of the exciting places you will visit in kindergarten. Meet the teachers who will guide you next year, get a sneak peek at several kindergarten activities, and discover the enriching environment known as kindergarten.

Calling All Skiers and Snowboarders

Cannonsburg Passes are now available for purchase online! These passes are available for all students AND parents. Be sure to enter our school "Rockford Christian School" and sponsor "Jeff Buursma" in the appropriate fields.

We Are Hiring In Kids Care

We are seeking a friendly, compassionate, and responsible person to work in our Kids Care program. Please see the posting here and pass along any leads to Emily Jansen. 

Until we are able to hire appropriate staff, aftercare will end at 5:30 pm, and we will not be able to accept as-needed care. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to be fully staffed soon.

School Picture Retakes

Picture retakes are scheduled for Monday, November 22. Please email Ashley Howe, by November 15, if your student needs to have their photos retaken. 

Yearbook News

Order yours today! The yearbook price is now $22 and later in the school year it will go to $25. Staff members will receive a free yearbook. If you are ordering more than one, it is full price for the first and then $10 for each additional book. Click here to order.

8th Grade Portraits: It is RCS tradition for graduating 8th-grade students to have a portrait taken outside of school to include in the yearbook. This is often done by professional photographers or parents at home. Though this is not at all required, if you wish to send in a photograph, please do so by January 10th. If no portrait is sent, the one taken at school will be used in the yearbook. Images can be sent to Mrs. Yeates at jyeates@grcs.org and should be in jpeg format, as large as possible. 

Business Advertisements: Do you own or run a business that you would like to promote in the Yearbook advertisement section? Ad prices run from $35-$200. Email Mrs. Yeates for more information! jyeates@grcs.org.

Box Tops for Education

Help us earn money for RCS with Box Tops for Education. No more clipping! All you need is your phone! Download the Box Tops app, shop as you normally would, then use the app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app will identify Box Tops products on your receipt and automatically credit your school’s earnings online. Twice a year, our school will receive a check and can use that cash to buy whatever it needs! 

A Note From Outdoor Ed

Birds, birds, and more birds — this is our theme this month in Outdoor Ed! 

Our goal is to have our elementary students be able to identify 30 bird species. If you would like to join in, visit the bulletin board by the gym to test your knowledge!

Our Pop Can and Spare Change Drive is dedicated to the work at Alpha Grand Rapids. Thank you for continuing to bless these parachurch ministries in our community. But we need your heal to provide more toys for their Christmas Toy Drive. Please leave your cans and bottles at the entrance to Room 135 and smile since you won't have to use time from your life to deposit them all!

If you see a fifth-grade next week, please ask him if he survived Uncle Phil's Survival School, which is happening this week Thursday and Friday. Here we go!

Parents in Prayer

We have a unique opportunity to gather as moms, dads, and grandparents to pray for our school — little siblings are welcome too!

Parents In Prayer will now meet on Tuesday mornings after drop-off. We will again be meeting outside and walking around the campus. We will follow the guidelines given by the Moms in Prayer organization. You can find the resources that we will use here.

We look forward to having many parents join us this year!
