A mixed group of high school students holding trophies
Jana Hoglund

It is no secret that Forensics at Grand Rapids Christian High School has enjoyed a long history of excellence; Forensics is recognized across the state year in and year out as a top-tier program. Our current team continues this tradition, and we are excited to announce another banner year for our team as well as individual student achievements.

Last weekend, 33 GRCHS students qualified for and performed exceptionally at this year’s state tournament. And the results? GRCHS Forensics finished 4th as a team, 13 students received state finalist honors, and three students walked away as state champions! And before heading off to Harvard to begin his freshman year, one of our finalists, Seth Billiau, will head to Birmingham, Alabama this summer to represent Grand Rapids Christian High School at Nationals. That is certainly exciting for Seth and his family!

Congrats to each of the 33 GRCHS qualifying students and to our finalists and state champions on their Forensics achievements this year. And congrats to Brian Karsten, GRCHS English Teacher, and Forensics Coach, for his personal commitment to ensure Forensics continues to be an amazing experience for our students. Achieving our mission to equip students to be effective servants of Christ in contemporary society requires supportive Christian parents and families, great students, and a dedicated staff who live and breathe that mission at every grade - each and every day.
