School Theme Verses

Each year the five Grand Rapids Christian School campuses choose a theme verse that represents the work and focus for that school year.  Throughout the school year students will learn more about their campus' theme verse and how it relates to their every day lives both in and outside of the classroom. You will have the chance to read and learn more about the theme verses through Principal Corner updates and Home Bulletins.

Every Story Whispers His Name
Cada Historia Susurra Su Nombre

Psalm 89:1

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth, I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

Oh Señor, por siempre cantaré la grandeza de tu amor; por todas las generaciones proclamará mi boca tu fidelidad.

God is My Rock.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Love in Action.

Romans 12: 9-21

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.  Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary:

If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Dream Small:
Do Small Things With Great Love.

Romans 12: 9-10

The Message
Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it.
Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good.
Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.

Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Be devoted to one another in love.
Honor one another above yourselves.

Lead Me to the Rock.

Psalm 61:2—3

From the ends of the earth, I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
