Grand Rapids Christian High School Principal's Corner

Randy Morris

For my last update, I would like to express my heartfelt thank-you for five of the best years of my educational career.
Students: thank you! Grand Rapids Christian High School is an amazing school. I have been so blessed to have been a part of this school for the past five years. I know our job, as a staff, is to prepare students to be effective servants of Christ in contemporary society, but I feel as though my faith has grown as a result of being a witness to so many amazing students who demonstrate and live our school's mission every day.
Parents: thank you! I have been blessed by countless interactions with parents within our school system. Leadership is more about serving than about leading. Our parents sacrifice and serve in so many ways; you have been a beautiful example to learn from. You are a model of servant leadership to your sons/daughters, our staff and to the Grand Rapids community.
Faculty and staff: thank you! We have the best teaching and support staff. I have marveled at the interactions between students and staff. Our staff respects our students, values their story and prepares them to use their voices and skills. Our staff sets high expectations and works extremely hard to see that each student is successful. Our staff models the Christian behaviors we expect of our students.
District leadership: thank you! Mr. Glen Triezenberg, principal search consultant approached me to consider this call. Mr. Tom DeJonge and our Board of Trustees trusted the interview process of staff, Board and community members. I have the greatest respect for Mr. DeJonge and the Board of Trustees for leading our district to become the school God intended. Our K-12 leadership team is second to none.
Father in Heaven: thank you! God is good all the time; all the time, God is good. Thank you, Lord, for bringing me here to Grand Rapids Christian High School. I loved every day. I am a better person because God is in my life and He had a wonderful plan for me. I cannot think of a better way to retire than here and now: in a place that I love, with staff and students whom I love, in the presence of my God whom I love.
To God be the glory, now and forever - Amen!
