The 7th Inning Stretch
The sun is finally coming out, birds are singing, and baseball season is upon us. As we near the start of Spring Break this week, it is a good time to reflect on the passage of ¾ of another school year. To borrow from sports' analogies, we have reached the 7th inning stretch or the break between the third and fourth quarters.
At this time of year-especially after a long and cold winter-what do we need in order to make it to the end of the game? A few ideas to ponder as we take this final break before the last two months of school:
- We need to look back and thank God for the blessings of our children, our families, and the communities of faith that guide us through both good times and difficult times. As parents, we often say "It takes a village," and we are thankful for the partnership between our families and staff in the lives of kids.
- We want to finish strong. As with many things in life, reaching the ¾ mark comes with both exhaustion from the race that has been run but also a sense of determination as the goal is in sight. We encourage one another to persevere and to take the day-by-day steps to finish well and to enjoy and not overlook the blessings of each new day.
We look forward to Spring Break, to a time of rest and a break in routines, and then to the fun of iXplore Week before getting into the last two months of school. We wish all of you a wonderful time of rest and rejuvenation in the week ahead!
