Sometimes we learn best from experience. Yesterday was one of those times. I am going to go away from the usual messages I share in this space to instead share a detail you may need to take care of. We use lots of media to communicate well with all of you. We send you this Home Bulletin. Teachers send you blogs.  Sometimes we send out email blasts. We even use good old-fashioned mail.

All these communication methods, however, leave one glaring hole in our communication plans. There are times when we need to share immediate, short messages. These messages include quick things like a note about a lockdown that is happening, a heads up about a bus running late and of course an announcement that we are having a snow day. For communications like these, we use a group text application called Remind. We ask parents to sign up for this first thing in September.

We sent out a 'snow day' message yesterday morning at 5:30 am. ...and we learned that many of you need a reminder to sign up on Remind. We should have known. We have about 300 parents and grandparents signed up this year.  Last year we had almost 600.  So now we get to the point!

If you have not signed up to be included in our 2018-2019 Remind parent group or think you signed up but did not get a snow day message yesterday, please contact Arrin Brisbane in the school office to get signed up as soon as possible.  Thanks!
