Iroquois Principal's Corner

Have you ever had a moment in life that very well could be a snapshot of Heaven? I experienced one of those moments in our all-school chapel last Friday. Hearing roughly 500 kindergarten through 4th graders singing is truly angelic. A song called “Speak O Lord” really stood out to me. The second and third line in the song say, “To receive the food of Your Holy Word. Take Your truth, plant it deep in us…” Those words hit me.

First, thinking of God’s Holy Word as food helped me further grasp the need we have for the Word of God in our lives. I can go quite a few days without reading Scripture and, sure, I’ll be just fine in an earthly sense, but how is my spiritual health when I am not engaging in the Word. We need to hear from God through the Bible in order to understand what it means to be led by Jesus, to be forgiven, to love others, and how to share what needs to be shared!

Second, I want God’s truth planted deep inside where it can’t get out. To know our chains are broken by God’s grace, and that he loves each of us so much is something I want to have glow from within. I want to share God’s grace and his love so others can catch a glimpse of what God’s grace and love looks like.

I loved worshipping with your kids at chapel on Friday. Come on out to our next all school chapel and you can worship with us! In the meantime, it is my prayer that you experience God’s grace and love, and then get to find someone to share it with. Have a great week!

A Note About Safety
You may have noticed the new sign at the driveway entrance off Iroquois. It states that cell phones should not be used in the car line. For safety reasons, please adhere to this policy. Please set your phone down any time you're in the car line or driving in the school parking lot and surrounding streets. Thank you for keeping our kids safe!
