Where Children Are Known, Creation Is Our Classroom, and Christ Is Followed Faithfully

When you choose Rockford Christian School (RCS), your child becomes part of a close-knit school that nurtures faith, learning, and develops students into the fullness of who God made them to be. Students learn in bright, welcoming classrooms and in the beauty of God’s creation—36 acres of forests, trails, outdoor classrooms, and play spaces that invite curiosity, movement, and wonder.

At Rockford Christian, community is built through relationships that last. In a smaller school setting, teachers often walk with students and families for many years. Students feel known, supported, and challenged as they move from preschool through middle school. Buddy pairings and multi-age connections help older and younger students learn from one another. Rockford Christian reflects the love and welcome of Jesus in how we relate to each other, creating a place where each child and family belongs.

Early Years: Preschool, Young Fives & Kindergarten

A gentle, wonder-filled beginning to school on a 36-acre, nature-rich campus, where faith, play, and learning are woven together.

Preschool

For children 3–4 years old. Play-based, Christ-centered learning builds strong social-emotional and early academic foundations.

Young Fives

Designed for children who would benefit from an additional year between preschool and kindergarten, strengthening confidence, readiness, and whole-child development.

Kindergarten

Full-day and progressive kindergarten options with a strong foundation in early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving — with daily outdoor exploration.

Elementary School (Grades 1–4)

Elementary students grow in core academics, creativity, and character within a Christ-centered, relationship-rich community.

Project-based learning, outdoor experiences, and strong teacher relationships help students become confident, curious, and compassionate learners.

Middle School (Grades 5–8)

Middle school is a pivotal season—when students ask deeper questions about who they are, where they belong, and how their gifts matter. At Rockford Christian, these years are anchored in Christ through regular worship, Bible study, mentoring relationships, and Christ-centered staff who help students navigate growing responsibility and independence with wisdom and a grounded sense of identity.

In our smaller, relational middle school, students are truly known. Teachers know them by name and story, notice when they are thriving or struggling, and walk closely with them through both. Friendships are nurtured with care, and our 36-acre campus keeps movement, outdoor learning, and hands-on exploration woven into each week.

Rockford Christian Middle School offers a wide range of athletics, instrumental music, and fine arts opportunities. Students participate in team sports, explore band and orchestra, and grow their gifts through subjects like Spanish, Choir, Physical Education, and Art. Technology is thoughtfully integrated throughout the curriculum in ways that deepen—not distract from—their learning.

36-acre Outdoor Campus

Creation as Our Classroom

Our 36-acre outdoor campus is one of the clearest expressions of how Rockford Christian lives out the GRCS mission in Rockford. This isn’t just a nice place to play—it’s a living, breathing extension of our classrooms.

Outdoor Education

Outdoor education at Rockford Christian invites students to learn through direct experience with God’s creation. Through weekly outdoor education classes, students explore science, literacy, and stewardship beyond the classroom walls—developing curiosity, resilience, and a deeper appreciation for the world God has made.

Hands-On Discovery

Students design forts, build with natural materials, and solve real-world problems in God’s creation. Students also enjoy off-campus learning experiences at Camp Roger and other locations throughout Michigan, extending their outdoor learning and leadership.
